Hello, everyone!
Want to have a taste of a relaxing alfresco dining experience that lets you enjoy a variety of hearty Filipino dishes with family or friends? You might want to check this one out! 😊
After our fun-filled team-building activity in Rancho Aguinaldo in Alfonso, Cavite, before going home, we dropped by this cool place in Silang, Cavite to have our lunch.
Upon entering the place, the first ones that caught my attention were the stilt houses with their captivating ambiance that offers a relaxing and cool space while enjoying a delectable Filipino food dining experience.
Also, these open-air nipa huts/kubo sheltered by lush greeneries offer a refreshing ambiance.
They have these nipa huts/kubo that resembles the traditional Filipino headwear, salakot, the cafe's namesake.
Now let's talk about the food.
They offer here a variety of hearty Filipino foods. For our lunch, we rewarded our physically-exhausted bodies by fueling up our starving stomachs with the mouthwatering and appetizing foods they served. First on the list is the hot pot of bulalo, a well-known Filipino beef dish that is native to the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. And since we are already here, as they say, to taste its culture, you have to taste its food.
And who would say no to Crispy Pata or deep-fried pork knuckle?
We also ordered this crispy on the outside and scrumptious meat inside putok batok meal. It is truly a tempting meal to call it a "cheat day".
And we also included on our order list my all-time favorite crispy Daing na Bangus. I was impressed by the big size of the fish they served and also the taste which satisfied my taste bud.
We also had for lunch this delicious and juicy Chicken Inasal which was perfectly grilled.
For a balance of healthy food on the table, we also ordered Pinakbet, a sauteed mixed vegetables with bagoong alamang/shrimp paste, which is also my favorite.
And of course, Filipino food would not be complete without rice. We ordered garlic fried rice to complete the meal that would fill up and satisfies our empty stomachs.
These are just the Filipino dishes delight that this cafe offers to name a few.
Our Salakot Cafe experience did not just offer us scrumptious Filipino dishes as well as an aesthetically pleasing venue that offers an Instagrammable views for a social media post but rather, it connected our souls to a precise glimpse of our Filipino culture that encapsulates a moment of tradition and growth - evoking a sense of nostalgia and a profound connection we share with our heritage.
Thank you everyone for taking a moment to read my post. Have a great weekend everyone!
