For all sweet-tooths out there I want to share with you a restaurant we went to recently. It serves plates that look like your favorite desserts, but are actual meals!!! No kidding.
We also tried snails and rosed shaped ice creams that were so beautiful it was painful to eat. I am going to share with you these experiences (and places) in case you want go check them out soon! :)

I am visiting Paris for a few days with my 80 year old godfather. It is his first time in Europe. I love him and am too proud of him.
After a bit, I was tired of the overcrowded places... (we tourists mostly like to see the same things when traveling, no?).
So we decided to stop at Batignolles to change the style a bit. This area is more residential, close to Montmartre and does not have much to explore other than real parisian life. I really enjoy this kind of tourism. A cute corner here and there, some coffee shops, parks, supermarkets to go window-shopping in, and a nice sunset...

On our first day in Paris, we had snails for lunch! Look at these beauties. They don't taste bad, I have to say. And am sorry if I sound inexperienced. I know I am.. haha... But I was a little unsettled about trying these. In Chile, where I come from.. we don't eat these just like that. We would usually think of these as very very disgusting.. haha.. But here I was! I tried it! And I recommend them. Specially in this place that is very budget friendly. And you know it is good because a huge cue will form of people eager to go in. Look up Bouillon Pigalle and go for it! Other French specialties are available to try.
En nuestro primer día en París, ¡comimos caracoles! Mira estas bellezas. Y no tienen mal sabor!

After lunch, if your want dessert. There is nothing like an ice cream. Cause you know... vacation is no place for diets. I had not noticed this shop before, but apparently Amorino is a very well known chain that sells ice cream in the shape of roses. It was my uncle's and my first rose and so just look at our faces. They say it all. I chose murtilla (crowberry) and yogurt. A taste of heaven, really. The extra euros you pay for the shape are a cool experience to have at least once.

Finally, wanted to share with you another foodie experience. Close to these last two places, and in the Batignolles area, just walking around we came across a restaurant called "Privé de dessert". Its was that time of day, so for dinner we decided to stop at this small and "unimpressive" place.
BUT. Wait for it. The fun thing about this place is that all your normal orders (for example, a burger) will look like a real dessert!!
Please let me know if I am wrong, but I found this idea so original! I was utterly impressed. And the food did not taste bad at all. Presentation was great, waiters nice and the food tasted perfect.
Me impresionó mucho.
Looking at their web page, I found that they have more than one place, not only in Batignolles. Look them up, and go check it out. They have their menu available online too, so you can see what a cappuccino there really has.. or their crumble, or the churros!!
It is not so budget friendly if you ask me.. (I am a student). It was about 20 euros a plate, 10 euros the entrance dishes. So you are three, you pay like 75 euros. But it is really a fun experience to come with a friend, a family member or even a cute date. We stopped with my uncle. We loved it. We ordered different plates each, cause we wanted to see and taste them all.
No es tan barato si me preguntas.. (soy estudiante).

Final words for the wise foodie-travelers. You have to try cheese in France. It is just otherworldly.
