As I mentioned in my previous post, last month I was so stressed because of having a low production of milk. It even came to a point that I would pump for twenty minutes yet had only one ounce of and was even watery. As told, I did take some lactating vitamins to help me boost the milk but it didn't even help. For a mom I would tell you it was really frustrating! Aside from the thought that formula milk was expensive, breastmilk has a lot of health benefits compared to. Thanks to the husband for not pressuring me instead, he even kept on telling me that rather than stress myself, I should relax. If I can't produce then we will just buy milk for our little one. After all, what the baby needs is a happy mom.

Surprisingly, my milk production improved! Now I can't pump enough to feed my baby in just one session though. Just the replenishment takes me three to four hours yet the baby was demanding for milk two or three hours after. Not only that but the quality was now better, thicker! So I can say that stress, emotional feelings were a big contribution. Now, I only need to focus on how to improve the volume.

Not that much but better compared in the previous month.

How to boost milk production then?

One of the basic ingredients of supplements was moringa either it was a capsule, liquid or cookies. So why not consume fresh one? I've been thinking of doing so but there was no available. Most of the time it was out of stock in the nearby market. However this past week I noticed that the moringa in our backyard was growing healthy.

Good timing as it is mushroom season now.Nope not the cultured one but I am speaking of native that grow naturally. Old tales say once there is a lightning and thunderstorm the previous night then expect a lot to sprout the next day.

Mushroom about to sprout

This one is okay for harvesting. Yes, it just grows in our backyard , only a few steps away from our house. It was the brother-in-law who harvested it then he would give it to me if I wanted too.

This is good to mix with veggies but since I am eyeing for milk production I thought of making mushroom soup.

The Ingredients

  • Mushroom
  • Moringa
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sliced Onion

It really depends on your preferences but I wanted it preservative free

Simple steps I did.

  • Clean and slice the mushroom as it still had mud. After, slice it into pieces, ensure to separate the stem as it takes time to soften unlike the cap.

  • In a cooking pot, pour water depending on how much soup you wanted, I intentionally added more than it was supposed to. Then pour the sliced onion and mushroom stem.

  • Once the stem is a little bit soft, add the cap.

  • Then seasoned. I only added salt and pepper.

Yep the grind one.

  • Once the mushroom is soft and cooked add the moringa leaves.

I wasn't able to separate the leaves from the stem as I was in a hurry. Baby was just playing on his crib and might cry anytime.

Here is the mushroom soup ready to serve. How was the taste? Well it feels like home as we used to cook this back then.

Congrats on the improvement of your lactation. Hot tablea also works 😊

Back yard food you don't have to grow. Win win, hehe. I actually seem some mushrooms here on a nature trail I walked on Friday. I'm pretty sure they were the non edible ones though. Your soup looks simple and delicious 😋

BTW Your husband did well calming you down and great to hear things improved later.

There are a lot of mushrooms and some of them are colorful that grows in the wild. But only few I think are edible 😁,. This one is seasonal and back when we were kids , we would saturate the area to do the harvest 😅.

My husband is not perfect but I could say he is the best . I am so lucky to meet him and having as a partner in life 😁.

Not enough milk but at least thought that I could feed my baby few bottles is comforting

There is only one mushroom I can identify as edible here. Even though there's a handful of them.

Your husband is proof us guys can be ok, right? 😂 Glad he's supportive, best in your eyes and is a good life partner for you :-)

Any amount you can produce is beneficial. Maybe less stressful days ahead will allow you produce more. Enjoy what's left of your day!

Tagal KO Ng Hindi nakakain Ng mushroom na ganyan. Dito Yung cultured, o Kaya dried mushroom. IBA pa Rin ang lasa Ng native♥️.

I understand your concern, not being able to produce enough milk for the little one. Your husband understands human psychology and thank goodness you listened to him.
I hope this mushroom soup improves milk production.
