Fried rice is one of my favorite dishes for dinner. But sometimes, I enjoy fried rice (Nasi Goreng) for lunch as well. In Indonesia we can find various types of fried rice, one of which is Kampoong fried rice. Well, I really like Kampoong fried rice or Nasi Goreng Kampoong because of its savory taste with the addition of eggs, shrimp or squid.
When I visited Ocean Cafe in Matang Geulumpang Dua, Bireuen District, I ordered a portion of Kampoong fried rice. You can see in the photo how the kampoong fried rice is very tempting and made me drooling before tasting it. In addition to the addition of eggs and shrimp, this fried rice is also added with pieces of cucumber.
Because I ordered the extra spicy kampoong fried rice, some cayenne pepper was added when the fried rice was cooked.
And you know, Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) from Indonesia was the second place of The World’s Best Foods according to CNN readers. It’s not a big surprise as Nasi Goreng in Indonesia is a national delight, and it could be found anywhere, served as street foods’ dish or the main menu of a famous restaurant.
Nasi Goreng Kampoong by Ocean Cafe is so delicious and popular in the town. They use local ingredients grown by local farmers. It’s very important for me. Ocean Cafe is located near the Bus Terminal, Matang Town. The cafe was founded in 2019. They have spacious and confortable place to enjoy our drinks and foods. Actually they offer a lot of menus, but I decided to order Nasi Goreng Kampoong for my lunch.
Many guests were also enjoying their foods and drinks with friends and family. They looked so happy.
Beside mineral water, I also order honeydew juice. It’s served with ice. It was so nice to enjoy the drink in hot weather.
