Food tastes different according to place, no? It's not always about the ingredients but about everything, the environment, our mood, and yes their process.
I would never claim that only the luxurious places serve the best food but I have found some gems on the streets too. That's the reason I never turn up my nose at street food.
Today, I'm going to share some of the food from the mall and the street carts that I have tried recently. You can give your honest opinion, what you would choose, what is your favorite.
Let's start with two of my all-time favorite street snacks. The upper one is known and adored worldwide for its taste which is Momo/Dumpling.
And the lower one is our local favorite called Fuchka.
They only cost $1.20 and $1 accordingly. But don't judge the taste by their price. You can never get the same food with the same kick of taste in any luxurious restaurant but on the street. That's the specialty of this food.
Then I would like to talk about this pizza place on the side of the street.
There's nothing fancy about this, you can complain about the hygiene. But look at the pizza and the tea, aren't they enough to let you understand how good they taste?
The 8" pizza only costs $2.5, they freshly make it in a fire oven. And the tea was only $.10 a cup. Under $5 you can have a heavy family meal. Yes, you have to sit on the side of the road, the place is not well-maintained, and open with air pollution, but the taste is unbeatable and so is the price.
However, I can't deny the hype of mall food or food from any good place. They taste a lot different, sublet but fine.
The well-maintained place usually charges more but the food is worth it. It's more like an experience when you go to such places or any other fancy restaurant.
I paid around $5 for one box of food, as it was a small buffet, they changed according to the weight so we took whatever we liked and how much we could eat.
The experience of mall food, fancy restaurant food, and street food is different. Here, street food is usually a little bit spicy, with fewer ingredients but a lot of spices to stand out the taste.
Overall, I wouldn't give any of the places a higher point than another. All of the food and places have their own thing; it depends on the mood, budget, and what we are craving for the day, right?
What do you think? Which one would you choose or do you feel the same about food that I feel?
