The local news was that some fabulous street food carts had taken place on our popular street, and we couldn't wait to try them.
Mohammadia Housing Society's main road is the buzzing street here. You can find everything here from grocery stores to food carts, from retail shops to super shops. But what missing is some reasonable food place for the locals. And there we have it.
Let me show you around.
First, we went to this small cart that some teenage students ran.
They were offering our local fried items like vegetable and chicken cutlets, fried eggplant, egg pudding, shashlik, noodles, etc.
The cart seemed much more hygienic than other usual food carts. Also, their price was quite reasonable and affordable.
We have ordered chicken nuggets, thai chicken BBQ, and vegetable nuggets. The taste of the food was more homemade one rather what we taste at restaurants. And I believe many prefer it that way because I was seeing a lot of office/work people coming to grab their food after work.
What catches my eye is, their mom helping them run the carts. And the teens were also very friendly and helpful. I hope they will work on their food quality and taste; it will make them run the business successfully in the long run.
Then we went to another cart and tried their deshi-style french fries. They look very oily. But believe me, the taste was good and the sauce was nicely prepared.
Also, they have other food options, like burgers, momos, etc.
This is what the place looks like, not very organized and hygienic but this is what it is. They prepare the food in front of the customers, they charge very reasonably and are very friendly.
I wouldn't mind their other food items from time to time. It's not always like we crave fancy food. Rather my Deshi soul often longe for some spicy, street-style food. I believe these carts would be a perfect fit for that need.
What do you think?
