In my previous post the necessity of offering and having access to street food in (certain) countries was briefly mentioned. The Neapolitan 'O Cuoppo di Frittura was then also highlighted and this time the honor befalls the famous Pizze Fritta (Fried Pizza).
Pizza Fritte or Pizza Fritta is a (deep) fried pizza that finds its origins in the bustling city called Naples. So we had to try it at least once, when we were in the city itself. Fortunately for us, there was a stall - or rather a "window seller" - in walking distance from the place we were staying at.
We ordered one medium authentic Pizza Fritte with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, because we were on the go and planned to try more street foods that day. Unbeknownst to us that one fried pizza was more than enough for the two of us.
The Pizza Fritte bursted with all the known "basic" pizza flavors and was a bit overwhelming. It reminisced of a normal pizza, but different because of the fried process. The breading was crispy and the inside was soft, hot and melty. After the two cuts I was good until dinnertime.
