With my family we love sprouts - this delicious and healthy Living Food.
During the colder months, when fresh vegetables and fruits are no longer in such abundance, comes the time to making sprouts at home.
Since I recently bought two lids that are made specifically for sprouts, I thought I'd take some pictures and show you how I prepare them.
The lids are for large compote jars. They have a lattice structure and the many holes on them allow the "breathing" of the sprouts and the easy draining of the water from the jar.
One of my favorite sprouts are alfalfa sprouts.
They are rich in many vitamins, the greatest abundance of vitamins C and K, they contain minerals and valuable amino acids.
Here's how I prepare them:
I put the seeds at the bottom of a compote jar. I filled the jar with water just enough to cover them and left them for 12-16 hours covered with my new lids.
The next day I washed them well and put the jar in a flat position so they would grow better.
I washed them twice a day for 2-3 days and little by little they sprouted.
Here they are ready to eat - so fresh, healthy and delicious.
I add them to salads and soups, as an addition to sandwiches. Or direct consumption with the spoon 😊.
Thank you for stopping by!
