Crypto and the SEC: "Everything is political". How Polkadot avoided being classified as a security by the SEC so far.

Gestern bei einem amüsanten Vortrag der Web3 Foundation/Polkadot bei Block & Wine. Nathalie Boyke hat aus dem Nähkästchen geplaudert, wie es Polkadot bis jetzt geschafft hat, eine SEC-Einstufung als Wertpapier in den USA zu umgehen.

Drei Dinge, die Polkadot richtig gemacht haben, um eine Verfolgung der SEC bis jetzt zu vermeiden:

Erstens, Governance-Änderungen (mehr Dezentralität), zweitens Umstellung des Marketings (weniger Investment, mehr Infrastruktur-Blockchain), und drittens wahrscheinlich das Wichtigste eine proaktive Zusammenarbeit mit der SEC und dem Kongress in den USA.

"Alles ist politisch". Da muss ich Nathalie recht geben.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr Polkadot schon mal verwendet? Hype oder sinnvolle Blockchain für FinTech-Startups, die eine eigene Blockchain auf Polkadot-Basis erstellen wollen?

Yesterday at an entertaining presentation by the Web3 Foundation/Polkadot at Block & Wine in Vienna. Nathalie Boyke spilled the beans on how Polkadot has so far managed to avoid SEC classification as a security in the US.

Three things Polkadot has done right to avoid being prosecuted by the SEC so far:

First, governance changes (more decentralization), second, change in marketing strategy (less investment, more infrastructure blockchain), and third, probably most important, proactive cooperation, compliance with the SEC and Congress in the U.S.

"Everything is political". I have to agree with Nathalie on that.

What do you think? Have you ever used Polkadot? Is it a hype or a useful blockchain for FinTech start-ups that want to create their own blockchain based on Polkadot?

Habe den Merch den mir @tibfox geschickt hat noch zuhause verpackt :-) Jedoch gute Idee, hätte eines anziehen können. ;-) Ist nur so, dass im Winter eher mit Pullover herumrenne. Heißt so viel, dass @valueplan uns Sweater schicken muss - für mich bitte in Weiß :D

Polkadot has made the right moves to be able to evade being troubled by SEC. I would say the cryptocurrency project Dot had immense potential, I made some investments in it sometime in the past. Thanks for writing and have a nice day.

I've not used Polkadot. It sounds like they are playing it smart because everything really is all about politics. Maybe others chains would be wise to pay attention to their example...
