Berlin: La Casa De Papel

Do you remember the Money Heist? La Casa De Papel? Are you familiar with Nairobi and Tokyo? Denver and Moscow? Or the great professor? All of them played a great role in the movie Money Heist. I won't deny the fact that I enjoyed every scene from the movie, from watching season one down to anticipating season two. It was worth watching.

A few weeks ago, a friend reminded me of the heist, and then our conversation channeled towards how the movie was so entertaining. He asked me if I had watched Berlin. I told him Berlin was just an actor in the money heist. But he was so persistent. Go and watch Berlin. It's a different movie on its own. It's okay. I would add it to my watchlist then.

Berlin. The Love Heist

I can say this is a Love heist and not a money heist. I really get to get some reality checks about love, what it takes to love someone, the consequences of loving too much, and the consequences of not showing up for those you love.

Though they had a heist plan, it turned out love took over. Love seems uncontrollable when you are with the right person. And that’s exactly what happened in the movie.

There are a lot of plot twists that will get you anticipating what will happen next. Is she going to fall for him? How dare he take this crazy step? But why? But why? You get so engrossed in suspense.

Love is about finding happiness in the happiest moments, it's about cherishing and valuing the little moments you share with your loved ones, it's about getting to know that you have a connection with those around you, and despite the odds, it won't break off. I think those are some facts about love I got to learn from the movie.

The Plot. Love triangle.

I think there are 7 or 8 major casts in the movie. Berlin, the mastermind behind the heist, Damian the sub mastermind, and the team with Cameroon, Rio, Kiella, and Bruce. Then on the counterpart we have Camille and Polignac the two victims of the heist, then Alicia the police.

The movie sets out with a scene where Berlin loses his wife to another man. Funny enough that was his third relationship but still lost it. He wasn’t fine with letting go, but he realized that lost love can't be forced. It only appears like a fairytale in the early beginning but with time it begins to fade.

Damian on his end believes love lasts forever because he has been having it cool with his wife for over 20 years. So he thinks Berlin was just fated to experience the cruelty of love. But in the end, he lost his love and then realized that Berlin was right with his words about love.

Berlin on his mission to the heist fell in love with Camile, his fourth relationship while spying on her husband Polignac. The chemistry between both of them worked out fine. But the question is how would Berlin shuffle between his love life and his work life. They are two different lives entirely. Especially when you have to face the lover of someone you love as your enemy.

He played a nice game. Yeah, the game was really worth it, he didn’t lose both Camile and the money. It was a Win for him. But Polignac shocked me.

Camille, an innocent soul who just loved for what love was all about later found out that was all alone thinking she was in love, she realized that all those love stuff were just mere infatuations. She felt she had been used by both her husband and Polignac. With a confused state to make decisions, she felt so blank that her friend came to the rescue.

Having a good friend also matters a lot. Her friend really felt her loss and also made her play her game in the sense that she wouldn't be the loser but also win. Camille couldn’t go back to Polignac who had been cheating on her for years and appeared to be the love of her life. And then she felt disappointed in Berlin for robbing her husband using her as bait.

In conclusion

The movie was really worth watching more than I thought it would appear to be, it's been a nice one with all the actors playing their roles so genuinely. If I were to rate this movie then I would give it a 8/10 rating. It’s so captivating and the suspense is amazing too. For someone who really gets fascinated with drama, action, and romance then I would highly recommend this movie.

One of my favorite characters of the movie money heist. The dude was just too important to completely close his chapter even after his death.

Yeah. That’s the fact. I thought it would all end after his death in money heist. But here he is.

From your review, it's definitely a movie that I'd like to watch. Would include in my watch list, thank you for sharing 🙂
