When I began watching this movie, I was very sleepy until something interesting flashed my eyes. I then sat down very well to pay attention to what was going on and the movie did not disappoint. Right from the beginning to the end, my eyes were widely open and to be very honest, I didn’t even realize at the latter part that, the movie was coming to an end. Yes, I was gone.
Ad vitam is a 2025 action movie about a man whose past professional life caught up with him and put him in a situation where he had to keep fighting for his life. Oh and that of his heavily pregnant wife’s. Before I continue, let me just say that Ad Vitam is a latin phrase which means for life. So I think the whole point of the movie was to fight for life which makes so much sense.
The movie was quite predictable so I’m going to spare you any details which would lead me to spoil it in anyway. But although it was as predictable as every action movie, where there’s a protagonist and a villain and a lot of violence, this was intriguing.
Maybe because there was a pregnant woman in her third trimester fighting bad guys? Or probably because it involved a man who was shot in the stomach but kept driving. Okay I said no spoilers so no spoilers.
Let me talk about what actually caught my attention; the suspense. I love action movies but this one had so much suspense and I kept following each scene like I had an exams to write afterwards. You’d think they are going to do “A” and they actually would do that “A” but the way they’ll go about it will just leave you with your mouth wide open.
Another thing I loved about the movie was the cinematography. It was so good that I literally paused certain scenes a couple of times to learn one or two camera angles. You know there are movies whose Camera angles could confuse you? This wasn’t like that at all.
Oh and the scene arrangement was top notch. I really loved the fact that they mixed scenes of his past life with that of his present.
There were also unrealistic scenes like what I said earlier. How could a man shot in the waist still be able to drive for over 30 minutes while being chased by shooting goons? Well, I liked it because it was just so dramatic and I love action drama.
I also didn’t understand why the man was still arrested even after they caught the bad guys and got evidence that he was innocent. Oops! No spoilers. But just be expecting a lot actions which could literally let you clap your hands and say wonders shall never end. I’m not entirely sure what I learned from that movie except this survival move I’ll pull up anytime I’m trouble. Hehe.
I’ll rate it 7/10. Watch it and thank me later.
