My favorite movie animal is Monchi, the dog, from the movie Mitchells vs machine.
Monchi is voiced by Doug the pug. Monchi is an animated pug dog that is obedient, loveable, and well-trained. But has some physical issues that gives both himself and the robots they fought in the movie a hard time.
For one, he is cross-eyed, which means his eyes aren't normal and are constantly facing the opposite directions. It's pitiful but also laughable as his cross-eye situation constantly puts him in the comical point of view. A good example is when he is being tossed an item to catch. He tries his best but still misses it every time. But even at that he never stops trying.
Another one is his appearance. Watching the movie, I can very well say that,yes! This is a dog. But it turns out that the machines in this movie, Mitchells vs machine, are due for an upgrade as they are unable to tell the difference between a dog and a loaf of bread...😅.
This is an instant comedy for me as I would always look back at the dog, asking myself does he look like a loaf of bread? But the funny thing about this question is that I know he is a dog...
But my favorite scene of him in the movie is seeing him become a hero. The Mitchell family indeed did all the heavy lifting but Monchi did most of the heavy punching without even breaking a sweat or lifting a paw. All he did was sit and smile like a dog while posing like bread...😂
Here's a fun fact: Did you know?, that compared to the rest of Mitchell's family, Monchi had the highest score on robot breakdown (smashed) with Katie's mom ranking second? ....I'm sure you didn't because just like me, you were probably focused on Katie's mom becoming a last-minute badass!!
In the end, I found it very satisfying that Monchi's eye condition was corrected. Although his inability to catch thrown objects stayed, despite his perfectly good eyesight.
