I watched Red one on boxing day. I had seen the movie preview on my movie box app and I just liked that it was a Christmas movie with a lot of action in it. So I went ahead to download it.
I was very excited to share this movie with my family and friends who were with me during the holidays and yes, I was very eager to get positive and probably delightful remarks about the movie but it turns out that I was the only one who found this movie exciting to watch.
Since the 26th of December, I have watched this movie three times already and each time, the same exciting feeling is there. So I'm baffled by the "negative remarks" I got from those who watched the movie with me or maybe it's because I love everything that has to do with Christmas 😁.
Red one
Red one is a Christmas fantasy action movie directed by Jake Kasdan and it runs for 123 minutes. It was released in November 2024 and starrs actors Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu and J.K Simmons amongst others.
Synopsis
Red one is a Christmas action movie so of course, the story revolves around Santa and his amazing job of distributing gifts to children on Christmas day. Well, that's for the well behaved kids and not kids whose names are on the naughty list.
All was going great at the north pole untill a broke black hat hacker decided to sell top secret information to an anonymous buyer. This move seemed like an innocent trade untill Santa got kidnapped.
Then we are introduced to a secret organization laden with maintaining balance between mythical creatures and the human race. They call themselves M O.R.A.
Dwayne tasked himself to go in search of Santa so that Christmas can go on as planned. He teams up with the notorious hacker, Evans and together they follow clues that helped lead them to where santa Claus was held hostage.
Was Christmas saved? Did everyone get a happy ending? Who kidnapped Santa? and does Santa have a brother? well that's for you to find out cos I ain't spilling more beans 😁.
I found this movie very interesting plus the action scenes were exactly Dwayne Johnson's style. Punching bad guys in the face, hehe. Every other cast and scene went okay. I loved the special effects, with Dwayne Johnson able to turn toys into useable real life stuff.
The lesson that stood out for me is this, "In every situation, we always have a choice to do good, to care and to be good". This was Santa's favourite quote and what kept him going cos he always chose to see the good embedded in the insides of people.
This might be a slow-mo movie for many but this movie earned a spot in my favourite movie collections. But the members of my household don't like it. Well irrespective of the nays, I will give this movie a 7/10 stars rating cos I was thrilled while watching it.
