Welcome everyone, to this week's @cinetv community contest.
So, this week I would like to talk about my thoughts and experience with the movie, The pursuit of happiness. And Apocalypto.

The pursuit of happiness is a dramatic movie, depicting the struggle of a man, Chris(Will Smith) who is a father and a salesman at a firm. Unfortunately, his wife left him due to his financial challenges, and ever since he has been struggling to keep himself and his son happy and healthy.
One thing I noticed in this film is that Chris is an incredibly smart guy, friendly, outspoken, and a very good father...an excellent father to be exact.
After losing his wife, life hits him harder, causing him to lose his home, now with no place to call home he wanders around seeking a place to call home for himself and his son to lay their head, as well as juggling his extremely demanding job.

Once again Will Smith proves why he is an excellent actor, playing the role of a father deep in crisis in a movie depicting the strength of the human spirit.
Although the pacing of the movie felt a little bit rushed, I could still understand the pain and the emotion Chris felt especially when he tries to explain the situation to his child.

Comparing this movie to the Apocalypto, which is a movie that also depicts a good image of a father, who protects his pregnant wife and child during an invasion by hiding them in a deep well before he is eventually captured.
The rest of the movie sees him as he battles to survive death, while still focusing on reuniting with his family.
I think that the pursuit of happiness is strictly a story about the father while Apocalypto is a story about a man. With the movie, Pursuit of happiness, I was able to live the experience of a father, I saw the struggles, I saw the hidden pains, I saw the secret tears wept in the night and I saw love, in the color of a rainbow built in the hopes of a brighter future. I saw dedication and determination to survive.
Whereas in the movie Apocalypto, I saw a man, I saw fear, I saw death through his eyes, I saw will, I saw fury, I saw vengeance, I saw the struggle and finally, I saw victory and joy that comes in the morning.
But what made these two movies greatly tell the story of a Father.. is..family.

I love the Apocalypto movie not just because it displayed excellent fatherhood, but because it was able to stretch out beyond the scope of a father into a dimension where one man, becomes an island.
On the other hand, I love the Pursuit of happiness because of Will Smith, and that's because I believe that if anyone else took up his role, the probability that the movie would be a failure would be very high. His portrayal of Chris is an absolute genius!

So guys, even though both movies take place in different times( Modern vs Ancient times) it still tells the same story. A story about a man, a father, a husband, and a warrior.
There you have it guys, my favorite movie to watch that depicts a prominent father.
