In today's video, watch as I talk about my thoughts on Hulu's new show "Mike" featuring Mike Tyson. Get a closer look at his illustrious story of starting down in the mud, eventually leading towards wearing the heavyweight title belt at 20y/o and knocking out nearly every opponent he ever faced. Then watch his life crumble apart, only to be built back up again to the successful man that he is today.

Iron Mike is just as entertaining as ever 🥊

Hulu recently dropped the first episodes of its new tv mini-series titled "Mike". This is a dramatized show about the personal life of the famous heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson. It is based on true events, but of course, there is added flair which makes it even more entertaining.

Most have already developed their own opinions about Tyson, but this show will surely enlighten you on many things that happened throughout his life. Some of these instances are good and others are downright terrible. This man came from the absolute lowest in the streets of Fort Greene in Brooklyn, New York, NY. He somehow managed to rise to elite levels of boxing and become the heavyweight champion of the world at the ripe age of 20 years old.

The way this story is told in the show is pretty awesome. Mike tells stories from his life on a stage in front of a massive crowd, much like a stand-up comedian. There are countless flashbacks to show you exactly what was going down. Two different actors play Mike Tyson. During his teens, the role is filled by B.J. Minor and when he's older it is Trevante Rhodes (who just happens to be hilarious, much like Tyson himself). Both do a great job executing the vibe of Mike Tyson in an entertaining fashion.

All of the different stories will really keep you engaged. Mike started fighting at a very young age. By 13 he was already beating grown men, this guy was born to be a champion. It's crazy to say that because he lacked confidence early on and his own mother was even convinced by a doctor that he was retarded at one point.

Episodes 1-4 are already out and the final four episodes will release before this month is over. We are getting two episodes each Thursday night at midnight. This means that on September 9th and 16th you can expect the second half of this show. So far, it's pretty amazing! Each episode keeps outdoing the last and even the first episode is excellent.

Currently, Mike Tyson is 56 years old. I can't wait to see what the show ends up doing with the more modern version of Mike. He really seems to be doing much better than he once was. He's been on many podcasts such as The Joe Rogan Experience and Full Send and always has a lot of good stories to share. Plus, he also has his own cannabis venture called Tyson 2.0 which you can learn more about here.

There is no shortage of entertainment here in this show. Any guy who is a sports fan of any kind will love it and some girls will probably even enjoy it too. I wouldn't say the show is for any one type of person, it was made to be watched by any and all. A lot may be hearing about Mike Tyson in-depth for the first time, but many are already familiar with the story of one of the greatest of all time in the boxing world. Either way, you do not want to miss this one.

Just watched the first two episodes of this and I have to say it's pretty spectacular. The guy playing teenage
Mike when he first met Cus is a great actor and I can't wait to see more from this show.

Isn’t it crazy good? I wasn’t expecting much out of this, but they nailed the entertainment aspect of it. I feel like I’m getting to relive a past time when I wasn’t even born yet. Pretty cool and also hilarious.

Definitely crazy good. I like how they're doing a highlight reel of his professional and personal life while having a more current version of him narrate and give commentary. Other than snippets of his podcast online, I just knew him as the scary boxer guy who likes shrooms now lol but it looks like the dude was real superstar in the early 90s

I had the exact same impression of him before this show. Now I look at him as a totally different person. I wish I could have been alive during his reign as king of boxing.

Yeah it's weird to think of how much of the prime era of television probably most Internet kids don't know about -- myself included. Googling Tyson after watching the Hulu show makes me realize 90's celebrities were just as crazy if not more sensational than Youtube celebs like the Paul brothers.

People are even crazier when the cameras aren’t around 24/7 🤑
I’m sure many things that would never happen today were totally occurring back then.

Mike Tyson is so good there.

I think they portrayed him in a way that I respect. They did make him look pretty stupid at times, but I think that’s just because he had such a rough childhood. As an adult, he was a beast most of the time unless he was going through something emotional like a break up or death of a loved one. Very easy to get down and out over stuff like that, especially for somebody with a lot of trauma.

Thee is no doubt about that Mike Tyson is the greatest of all time.

After watching this show, I have to agree with you.

Exactly no doubt about that

For boxing lovers, a series based on real events is great, a young man who reached the top of the world of world boxing and perhaps for that reason it was his downfall. We all have stories to tell

It’s an excellent show, even if it’s not 100% historically accurate, at least it gives you somewhat of an idea of what the champs life was like.

An excellent boxer was Mike Tyson, perhaps he would have been much greater if it hadn't been for the many problems in his life

Yes and no. I think that some of the problems in his life are what propelled him to elite levels of toughness. I also think that certain things he experienced in life hindered him in some ways.

you are right he must have experienced very strong things in his whole life that made him very strong physically but at the same time very weak mentally

Thanks for the very informative video. It sure seems like a series worth watching. We will have to give it a go!

Mike's story is truly a remarkable one. It's nice to see it well documented.

You're very welcome. I think it is definitely worth your time.

You always get quality shows and about Iron Mike, is boxing also your fourth favorite sport after baseball, Mr @daltono?

There's a lot to learn from Iron Mike, right? Especially after visiting the link, you shared here.
He really started off the street and became the idol of many in the boxing ring and on stage.
How should someone become better and become successful by practicing a lot and becoming an expert in a field, then you will become someone who is successful.

When you are successful, you must also take care of the other successes of your life. Age will increase and strength will decrease, so you also have to return to practice and master other fields.
Managing success also includes having to practice and master the skills to manage it.

...and many other lessons from pieces of Iron Mike's life that can be used as lessons for us.
Your post is full of lessons.

I wouldn’t say that boxing is one of my favorite sports, but I do enjoy watching a good fight.

You’re right, Mike Tyson is an excellent person to learn lessons from. He was born into struggle, found success, and eventually he to repeat that process. It’s miraculous that he’s still here today to tell so many awesome stories.

It is no doubt that Tyson was great at what he does, but the thing that amaze me more is that he started boxing at that age, I get most people start sport at an early age, for example, Stephen and seth curry and you can see the evidence of that in their game, currently speak Stephen curry is the best 3 pointer in the NBA and his brother Seth is doing pretty amazing at that too, but boxing is a different thing to me entirely, and beating people that are older then him, is just a sign that the man is born for that, he is not just a champion, he is a born fighter,
I had watched most of his matches, and more of his win is knockout to tell you how good he is. It is great having his documentary,
Legend are born, while others are made, so from this, we can have others like him

I played basketball against older people when I was very young, it definitely improves your skill a lot. You’re forced to do your absolute best just to have any chance of shining.

You’re right though, boxing is an entirely different beast than basketball. Not too many deaths from basketball ever, but you can guarantee there are many people who have died from getting punched in the head too hard. A grown man versus a 13 year old child is asking for some trouble… unless that teen was Mike Tyson of course. A supreme outlier.

I swear, the beast itself.

Yup! he was scary good! I'm no boxing fan, but I would watch his fights whenever I see it. I still watch his highlights on youtube.

I remember playing this game on snes when I was in middle school..

u seen this fight from the movie Ip man 3 (2016)

His highlight reel is very fun to watch.

Did you know that Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! was later released as Punch-Out!! and Mike Tyson was replaced as the end boss by a new character called Mr. Dream. All because he lost to Buster Douglas.

& yes I have seen Ip Man 3 and that fight is legendary. I honestly forgot about it until you mentioned it. Such an epic battle!

😮😣🙄
