Hello fellow movie-watchers.
If you've read my past movie review posts, you know that i will pretty much watch any type of movie, and, more importantly, rarely do i read anything about what i'm about to watch.
The only thing i glance at, from time to time, (when i'm in the mood to watch a specific type of film) is the genre. I didn't even do that for this one.
DON'T LET THE OUTDATED LOOK OF THE MOVIE FOOL YOU.
In the case of "The Man From Earth", i must have heard someone mention it on a podcast or something, and i assumed it would be be something like "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (which is a great movie by the way - i watched the remake), only because of the movie title.
But boy, are these two movies different.
Although i loved the Sci-Fi in "The Day The Earth Stood Still", this one blew me away. While it's well written, very engaging and thought-provoking it blew me away, mostly because it is something i was completely not expecting to watch, nor close to anything i've ever watched. Still, not to downplay how engaging and interesting it is!
The premise is very simple and i can imagine the description of the movie possibly even sounding silly. But this movie is everything but silly.
I don't do movie reviews, telling you all about what happens; that would spoil the movie for you. Nor do i write a 30-minute long post about it. I feel the time you take to read the post is much better spent on watching the movies i post about. And that's what i do - only post about what i think are well-worth-a-watch movies.
And this one is one of them.
I will say what type of film you can expect: it's a dialogue-based movie, with very little action, and in a single location.
But don't let that turn you off. Even if you don't enjoy these types of movies, i believe this one will grip your attention.
I hope you enjoy it!
I thought it was a fantastic, enticing movie.
Thanks for reading!
