This is entry #4 in the Planet of the Apes reboot and is set years after the death of Ceasar.
We are introduced to a peaceful village of Chimpanzees called the Eagle Clan because they raise and train Eagles.
A Human is seen raiding their larder. A party is sent out to investigate.
Our hero goes out that same night to steal another Eagle egg as his was broken the night before the great "Bonding" ceremony. He comes across the bodies of the party and a group of Gorillas with some technology that they shouldn't have who are chasing the human and capturing other apes for use as slaves.
The Gorillas raid the camp and our hero is the lone survivor (of course). He goes on a quest to rescue his tribe and links up with the human who just happens to be a gorgeous female who can talk and just happens to be the only human wearing clothes instead of primative loincloths.
The evil Gorillas are trying to get into an ancient weapons bunker left behind by the humans, the human female was sent on a mission to find a particular digital key in the same facility.
Chaos ensues.
This movie is clearly set up as a bridge between the previous movies depicting the fall of man and a future movie where there is either a renewed war between man and ape or a new Dinotopia movie with apes.
The movie is enjoyable, yet tends to plod along at times. It truly feels like a filler movie.
