There are so many political movies to choose from. When it comes to the political movies portfolio it is very vast and enormous. Like JFK, Malcolm x this are very good options. Also the happen to be true life stories of popular political persona. But I wouldn't be choosing any of them as my favorite. I will go for something different. I'm a staunch lover of action. So to choose I'll go for something action inclined yet with a political storyline.
My choice movie is The Hunt For Red October
When I was a kid, I despised the film The Hunt for Red October. That was due to my inability to comprehend the story's intelligence and plotline. However, as an adult, I saw the film again on one of the cable channels and now consider it to be one of the best submarine films with a political message ever made. A lot of clever thinking and action.
The film is based on Tom Clancy's novel of the same name, and critics say it lacks the depth of the novel. Although I did not read the novel, seeing the film in its current form was an enjoyable, if not rewarding, experience.
What I think about the movie
The Hunt for Red October is a gripping, electrifying, and tension filled movie that seems to get better with each viewing; even if you know what is going to happen, it is thrilling, with great direction from John McTiernan and stellar performances from the entire cast, which includes Tim Curry, Scott Glenn, Sam Neill, and Stellan Skarsgard. The Hunt for Red October is a fantastic blend of brains and brawn, and in my opinion, the best Tom Clancy movie.
Plot
The Hunt for Red October was released in 1990 and is based on Tom Clancy's novel of the same name. It stars well-known actors such as Alec Baldwin as (Jack Ryan) and Sean Connery as (Ramius).
The intelligence officer, Jack Ryan, was looking for a Russian submarine that the Russian government considered a threat to the United States. Ryan suspects that the Red October's (Russian submarine) Captain Ramius, played by Sean Connery and the most respected man in the Soviet underwater navy, has ulterior motives. Ramius was in command of an advanced submarine called Red October. This submarine is faster and more technologically advanced than any other ship beneath the waves. It is also nearly or completely silent as it glides.
Why I chose it as my favorite political movie.
In the movie there is a security tussle between two top world powers. The Soviet and the Americans
The Soviets convinced Americans that Ramius was a lunatic who wanted to steal Red October and flee to the American coast, where he would launch nuclear missiles at New York or Washington. They requested assistance from the United States Navy in tracking down and destroying the Red October. Ryan, on the other hand, believes there's more to it and that they were duped by the Soviets.
