Life is filled with hurdles. If your life hasn’t offered any obstacle no matter how little it may seem, then there’s something missing in it.
Everyone in the workforce, no matter how minimal you may think the job is, needs encouragement because it takes a lot of qualities to get out of the comfort zone.
A particular movie was in my mind and while I was writing about it guess what struck me? I remembered another movie I’m still grateful crossed my part. Let’s give it up for HACKSAW RIDGE 2016, yaaa!!
I watched the movie sometime in 2017 and it was my first movie suggestion.
It was all fun and games when it started then things took a different turn when Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield) said he doesn’t believe in violence.
Firstly, he opting out of the “gun crew” was something I doubt I can do because we have an enemy here! I can’t just pray and keep following a safe part with hopes of getting home alive. “While everybody else is taking life, I’m gonna be saving it, that’s my own way of serving”, there’s so much courage in this sentence.
Secondly, this man literally was in a crucible.
“Do not look to him to save you on the battle field” is a phrase I remember vividly.
He was told to run into the hell fire of battle without a single weapon to protect yourself.
His assiduity and resilience is one thing I cherish in the story and whenever I’m having a hard time these are qualities that come to mind. Doss’ perseverance was the climax of the movie.
When he kept saying “PLEASE LORD, HELP ME GET ONE MORE, HELP ME GET ONE MORE” I was madden. The love of your life is waiting for you to come home but you keep putting your life in the line. The world can’t survive without humanity, our lives should be a life of service in every little corner we find ourselves.
Thirdly, faith is one thing that plays a beautiful role in my life. Something has to keep you going. The way he kept the sabbath holy during the war made me realize that whatever you set your heart to, you’ll achieve no matter the situation. Stay true to what you believe as long as it’s for the good of humanity.
A movie that represents hard-work is Hacksaw ridge, it reminds me that no matter the situation I find myself in, how many times I fall, diligence, perseverance, focus and faith is all I need to get the work done. That’ll be all, thanks for reading.
