Has anyone seen this movie already titled, "Knight and Day?" Trust me, if you haven't, you should. I promise you, it would be an enjoyable one for you because it was for me. The movie is a fun mix of spy intrigue and lighthearted comedy. If you are looking for a movie to crack you up, this is it. No exaggerating but you're gonna love it.
Alright, here is a little summary:
A woman (June Havens) meets this handsome guy (Roy Miller) on a plane. She was travelling to meet her sister, who would be getting married in a few days. It turns out that the guy is a secret agent and a spy on the run. June is just an ordinary woman who gets caught up in his dangerous mission, and she gets dragged into his crazy life, with people chasing after them and explosions everywhere.
Roy's mission is to protect a special battery, and unfortunately, everyone wants it, including the CIA that sent him on the mission. Both Roy and June go from one country to another as they aren't going to release the battery after realising their intentions. Along the line, June Havens starts to trust Roy, who to her, was unpredictable at first. Though things get wild and dangerous, in the end, they outsmart the bad guys, save the day and they both fall for each other.
The movie is a mix of action, comedy and romance. At first, I thought June would be killed, especially when everything turned upside down at the beginning when Roy planted something in her bag unknowingly making her a target to get through to Roy. She bumps into Roy, doesn't realise who he is and soon, her world changes when she gets caught in his high-stakes mission.
Roy Miller is carrying a powerful invention - a battery that never runs out and is being hunted down by both the CIA and dangerous criminals. June, on the other hand, gets tangled in his world as they dodge several bullets, escape plane crashes and travel to places like Spain and Austria.
There were lots of stunts pulled that made the movie thrilling, like when Roy single-handedly killed the people in the plane who were assassins sent to kill Roy and June, he took down the plane afterwards. Another scene was where he was chased down while on a motorcycle as he rode through crowded streets. While the movie is action-packed, the humour keeps things light and fun.
I love how Roy is a cool-headed guy and organised while June freaks out in hilarious ways, especially when she's in danger. Some scenes kept me glued and continuously cracking myself up. Imagine being knocked out, waking up to find yourself in a bikini and riding a motorcycle - all on the same day.
There's this amazing and well-played part where June is seen clinging to Roy as they speed through a crowded street. While she's terrified of the whole saga, Roy never bothered but calmly dodging bullets like it's a regular thing. "He must have trained many months for this," I muttered and smiled. Guess what? It's a movie, isn't it? At one point, June's like, "Is this real?"
Another part I enjoy is when June, who hasn't handled a gun before, is given one to help in a shootout but accidentally does more harm than good. Roy, with a surprising look, was like, "Did you just do that?" Seriously, I kept imagining lots of stuff and wondering, "If I were thrown into the whirlwind, would I keep up, or would I just scream my way through it" But guess what? My hats off to June Havens for her actions, and yes, Roy Miller is a badass, too.
Such madness, but it's what makes the movie a highlight for me. I'd rate it 9/10 because the story was engaging and at the same time, entertaining.
