Teen Wolf 🐺

in #hive-1217447 days ago

I remember back then when everyone was talking about the supernatural. When names like vampire diaries, originals, Harry Potter and Teen Wolf were the rage.
From back then, I'd watched/read only Harry Potter completely, sparsely watched vampire diaries and just a few episodes of The Originals.

Teen Wolf is something I'd only heard of, and I wouldn't have even known anything about the show nor have even remembered or been curious about it if I didn't watch the movie early last year.

Regardless, since last month, I'd been devotedly watching and understanding this series, the full show downloaded simply on a whim by my sister who's going through some kind of movieholic teenager phase... (Mine was in books)

Regardless, as I've watched the series, I now have a deeper understanding of the world of Scott McCall.

Teen Wolf 🐺

Plot

Scott McCall, is a spindly asthmatic boy who wonders into the woods and gets bitten by a werewolf.
In haste, he rushes home and tries his best to act as though everything is normal.
Regardless, everything changes when the wound heals and his body does a lot more. Now, as he's exposed and part of the supernatural world, he experiences all it's gifts, and is available to all its dangers.

Watching this show is something that I'm really happy for, even if it's a vain reason.
I'm just glad that I have finally watched the teen wolf.
Almost everyone in my age group has watched it but alas I wasn't really interested then, even now, despite the subtle feeling of being out of it when a line from the series or a scene of it was mentioned, I still don't think I'd had downloaded it myself and watched 😂
Regardless, I've watched it now and after seeing four episodes of the all exalted Teen Wolf, I have some thoughts I'd like to air.

My Thoughts

Binge watching this movie gave me a better view to be critical about it.
Although there's not much instances when it was bad, there were quite a few things that unavoidably irked me.

For one, why's Scott so naive?
I guess it's just my personal views, but the idea of a protagonist that always wants to save everyone in a world where it is practically impossible to made me sick.
Why was he trying to be so selfish?
Why was everyone okay with it?
Why was it working?

I found myself asking that after every season, especially in the Kanima arc of season 2. Why was he hell bent on saving everyone, even the murderers?
Such unnecessary obnoxious naivety didn't make sense to me though, and it just muddled the whole feel of a strong and kind protagonist, making it lean to a strong and stupid one😂.

Another bit is the unnecessary deaths that was in the movie. In particular Alison's.

Scott's love and Isaac's ship, the only pure human except from Stiles in Scott's pack and the one huntress who wasn't crazy in her family tree.
Offed in such a brutal fashion, it didn't further the plot, I'm yet to see what it achieved, yet it did pain me.

After two seasons, the characters had grown on me and her death was so shocking, so abrupt, it was just too much.

Another thing that irked me was how Scott took the death and immediately pounced on the fox.
Like I know she's a vixen but dude?😭😂
Wasn't Allison the only one? (Abi wetin e talk for season 1)

Regardless, her death really took the show to a whole new direction.

Another thing that irked me was the transformation... But in the show's defense it is pretty old so I'll let that slide😂😂

Regardless, these bad bits aren't all that are in the show.
It's loaded with good stuff too and the best is clearly in the Plot and the World building.

Every season, more of the world of the supernaturals are opened to use, introducing us to more monsters both friends and foes.

It's a show that has the ability to draw in and lock its viewers.
That's what made it so popular, it's what made people hooked and it's why I'm referring it to y'all now.
If by just a small chance, you're like me who has stayed without watching it.

Here's your wake-up call!!!

Please o. We're very much in the same shoes. I never watched it, and with how my life is going now, I doubt I ever will. And for good reason because your review is already getting me extremely pained. What nonsense super hero bs was that protagonist on to want to save everyone? And the deaths? That would literally end my viewership of the series with all respect. They should rest please. I'm not watching.😂

😭😭😭😂😂😂

So we plenty weh never watch am😭😂

Yeah, maybe I should see it too. I think I’m finally succumbing to peer pressure 😂

Succumb ooo😂😂😂

Lemme not be the only weak one😂😂

Have I watched Vampire Diaries? No. Did I crush on Damon and other male leads? Yes.
This teen wolf, I can't say I watched it. I walked in on someone watching it and I saw this human chase someone and then, he turned into a stretchy dog like this. He was able to stretch his body and passed through the burglary. That's the only thing I remember 😂

Did that even happen in teen wolf?😂

Na you know the teen wolf you dey watch😭😂😂😂😂

I like wolf movies and vampire movies. I like all that stuff. I don't think a series would hold my attention. I'm not willing to dedicate that much time to this genre (Although I did watch True Blood until it got really silly).

The trailer for this series actually made me laugh...That's a good sign :))

😂😂

It's actually a good series.
The supernatural mysteries would make you hooked and there are a lot of monsters with a few real world mentions...
