After a long, long night, I finished Kaleidoscope today early in the morning. Here's a link to my post from two days ago where I wrote my first impressions.
So... How was it?
Well, it wasn't a masterpiece but it was a pretty solid watch. Acting, special effects etc etc, all great. I especially enjoyed the performance of Jai Courtney... damn the role of the dick suits him well 😂 The rest of the crew weren't bad either. And Paz Vega...damn..what a milf 😍 🥒💦
Honestly, my only complaint is with the actual heist. It feels like the writers overcomplicated things for no reason (when it comes to the security of the vaults) and as a result the methods the crew came up to break in...felt...dumb. I guess the writers were going for a wow factor but instead delivered a "god that feels so retarded". Or maybe that's just me, dunno.
The writing of the "bad" guy also felt a bit lazy and sloppy at times, making him look like a total dumbass at certain points. Which was another big bummer.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and the character development. The plot twist was pretty good too, and although I guessed part of it early on (it was pretty obvious) I missed the bigger picture so it felt quite satisfying.
Overall, a good Netflix watch, with no gayness or political correctness. I'll give it a 7/10.
Kaleidoscope is an American heist drama television miniseries created by Eric Garcia. The eight-part series centers around master thief Leo Pap (Giancarlo Esposito) and his crew attempting an epic heist worth $7 billion, but betrayal, greed and other threats undermine their plans. source
In other news, season 2 of record of Ragnarok is coming on Netflix on 25 of January. Now that's a show I can't wait to see. If you like anime, go catch up on it!
