It's almost weekend and will like to recommend a romantic movie to unwind with." Cupcakes for Valentine". Omoni Obol usually keep me glue to my screen and this is no exception.
The movie follows with Anita(Bambam) showing up at her boyfriend's place on New Year's Eve with him breaking up with her because he feels, she's emotionally demanding and it suffocates him. She went home overwhelmed and her friend Nkiru(Ezeani) tries to lift her spirit. Valentine( Eso dike) whose girlfriend also broke up with him because he cares too much and she's left with little to no time to miss him.
Decided to go on a dating app where he got connected with Nkiru, Anita's friend and a date was fixed for them to meet up. Things didn't go as planned so Anita agreed to fill in for her friend. On getting there she met a rude and met and condescending who happens to be valentine. She left annoyed.
Well, life went on and Anita reconnected with and old school friend Rita( obichi Marshall ) , who traveled abroad and was back to Nigeria for her wedding. Who invited Anita over, and asked her to move in until after the wedding just to keep her company. Anita obliged and moved in only to meet valentine in the house. Imagine the shock on her face when she found our he is Rita's brother.
Without giving too many spoilers this movie takes you on a journey of love, rejection and self discovery . I found meself loving this movie and rooting for love .
My review and opinion
I love the related turn of events, great chemistry between Anita and valentine. It aslo portrayed healthy relationships and emotions. I enjoyed the bond the siblings share it was wholesome. Will rate the movie 4/5. Overall i recommend this movie for a relaxing and romantic watch.
