Hello everyone, today I will discuss about educational services for children with special needs. Education services for normal students and for children with special needs of course have differences. Therefore, in the learning process, teachers must use certain principles if they teach students with special needs. What principles should be used? Please see my explanation.
It should be noted that in providing services to students with special needs, the educational services provided include academic education services and self-development programs. The goal is to improve the quality of life of children so that they can be more independent. In the service process for self-development, the teacher must pay attention to several principles, among others.
- The Principle of Compassion.
The principle of compassion is a principle that seeks students with special needs to acquire knowledge smoothly and easily. This principle must be given fairly. Therefore, in its implementation, the principle of compassion must be in line with the principle of justice so that their students are treated fairly.
- Principle of Individual Service & demonstration
Individual education services for children with special needs should receive a larger portion. The teacher must give more proportions to each student by paying attention to them one by one. While for demonstrations, the teacher must prepare tinsel so that learning can run smoothly and be easily understood by students. The props or media used can be anything.
- Principles of Motivation.
No less important, namely the principle of motivation. Teachers must be able to encourage students so that they can bring up internal impulses from within themselves. Encouragement is a spirit to learn. Children with special needs are weak in getting motivation, so this is important to do.
The most important thing is, before starting educational services for students with special needs, teachers must first understand their students. al it was done by means of interviews and check list of learning styles. Without this understanding, it will be difficult for the teacher to apply the principles mentioned above
Those are some of the principles that we can use in educational services for children with special needs. In addition to the principles listed above, there are several other principles, including the principle of readiness, the principle of skill and others.
