विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद्याति पात्रताम् |
पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम् ||
Vidyaa dadaati vinayam vinayaadyaati paatrataam.
Paatratvaaddhanamaapnoti dhanaaddharmam tatah sukham.
Vidyaa = scholarship, learning.
Dadaati = gives.
Vinayam = humility, education.
Vinaayaadyati = Vinayaat + yaati.
Vinayaat = through humility,
Yaati = achieves
Paatrataam = worthiness.
Patratvaaddhanamaapnoti = Paatratvaat + dhanam + aapnoti.
Paatratvaat = being worthy.
Dhan = wealth.
Aapnoti = obtains.
Dhanaaddharmam = Dhanaat + dharmam.
Dhannat = from wealth.
Dharmam = religion, propriety of conduct, righteousness.
Tatah = then, from that.
Sukham = happiness.
The above verses teaches us "Scholarship makes a person humble and educated, which in turn makes him worthy. Being worthy he is able to become wealthy, and by following a religious and righteous lifestyle thereafter, he enjoys a happy and comfortable life."
In a nutshell, Education can help students develop as a whole person, which can improve their emotional well-being. Positive emotions can enhance concentration, creativity, and resilience. This helps them to be worthy in the society and ultimately helps them to garner more respect which in turns, gives a satisfactory and meaningful life.
