A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) MI-171 Helicopter crashed on Monday near Chukuba Village in Niger State.

It was gathered that the helicopter, which was on a casualty evacuation mission, crashed at about 1:00 pm. The number of persons onboard is unknown at the time of filing this report.

“The aircraft had departed Zungeru Primary School enroute Kaduna but was later discovered to have crashed near Chukuba Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State,” Gabkwet said.

“Efforts are currently ongoing to rescue the crew and passengers on board the helicopter, while preliminary investigations have commenced to determine the probable cause of the crash.”

There has been some controversy on how the plane crashed while the government official record is saying that it was an accident that led to the crashing of the aircraft the bandits also claiming responsibility of attacking the aircraft.

This shows how insecure Nigeria is becoming and how those that are supposed to protect the civilians are being targeted and killed by the bandits and insurgents.

All the investigation is going on on the true nature of the attack or the crash but truth be told that the nation needs help in terms of securing our citizens.

If truly this crashing off the Nigerian Air Force aircraft was done by the insurgent then the entire world should focus on helping the poor masses who are suffering from several hardships from the dwindling Nigerian economy the stop this insurgency.

On February 22, 2021, seven NAF personnel on their way from Abuja to Minna, Niger State capital, died when their plane crashed after takeoff from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

I think the major challenge here is that the Nigerian government needs to take a proactive measures to attack insecurity.
