Well I haven't been here for a while and I have to admit that it was the higher price of the Hive that brought me back. It makes quite a difference when you get double the price for an article. I also heard that Peakd now has a new AI image generator so I came to check it out.
So I have to say that the 5 cents per image price doesn't seem quite a bargain to me because a lot of comparable tools work for free and then they have subscriptions for a few dollars so if you're generating a lot of images it's more worthwhile than Peakd AI.
Oh, and I've also been unable to edit the images after the fact. I don't know if Peakd offers something like that at all but it's possible elsewhere. You take a picture and then tell the model to re-generate it a bit because you don't like one car in it.
But it's definitely a great start for someone who hasn't worked with AI before and has a few spare pennies on the Hive.
This is how the model handled my favorite genre, Steampunk. Prompt was:
"A vibrat steampunk city, large avenue with weird steampunk vehicles, late evening - it is already getting dark, so lamps are lit up."
