My question for God!!!

in #hive-1230463 years ago

When I saw the question of the week a lot of things popped in my head. This is mere because I am not one to question a lot of things.

I guess this has made me less disappointed in life I think one of the things most of my friends have complained about is my ability to ignore a lot of things.

Despite my ability to ignore a lot of things, there are so many things that bother me on the inside. There are so many unanswered questions in this life and when it comes to that one question, it can be very demanding and taking.

First, before the day I will take time to sit myself down, meditate and speak to myself on the importance of listening before talking. The reason is so I don't rant so much before getting an answer

I will prefer to meet with God very early in the morning say 8 am so I am fresh with energy and vigour.

On that morning, we will probably meet on a very serene island just two of us without any distraction.

After setting the area up, then I will ask the question.

What is that one question

You know a lot of people do a lot of wrong and evil things and yet they get away with them

Take a look at Vladimir Putin, he just might get away with everything if there is an agreement.

Also, some people are very successful despite the evil they do. U still can't seem to understand this.

Take Nigeria for example, the number one citizen of Nigeria did a lot of evil things while he was president during the military era and yet no evil has befallen this man.

I have seen people who have killed people and yet they have lived till old age. The sad thing is they just die peacefully.

Now the painful part is some people are so good, they have done no evil but yet those people die like sheep.

They are stricken by afflictions. They die painful and mysterious deaths.

Could it be that karma doesn't exist or could it be that Karma is just an illusion?

From all these scenarios, my question should be clear by now

why do bad people get rewarded handsomely and why do good people suffer.

Some people might say, I do not know what they are going through in their rooms.

I get that I do not know what they are going through in their rooms but what I see outside is too good for someone who is suffering in his room.

I don't know the answer I want from God but this question strikes me every single time.

Good people tend to die faster than bad people.

Good people tend to be less rewarded than bad people.

Dirty politicians are the ones who get more attention.

I hope I wasn't too emotional but I guess the question was a thought-provoking one.

Thank you for reading.

You picked a good question to seek an answer to!

In the religious context of something God may have an answer for, you might study Theodicy which seeks to explain how an all good god who is also all knowing and all powerful doesn't seem to take actions to change things he knows are bad and can change since he is all powerful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodicy

You wrote a post recently about a woman who had a condition that could have been treated but she chose against that path. People make lots of choices everyday and generally speaking I think they should make their own choice without force. It's hard to know what the outcome can be, but the naturalistic view of the world is that there is no god running things, things just play out from choices people make and things that happen in the universe due to the laws of physics.

People have some expectation of karma, good things happening when people are good and bad things happening when they are bad, because that is what generally happened in our history long long ago. People lived in tribes of around 150 people and everyone knew everyone else's actions. We are social animals and we need to work with others to stay alive. We had to make it clear to everyone what was expected. Everyone had to contribute, there was no accepting a benefit without paying a cost. No cheating and expecting someone else to carry your load when you were perfectly able to do it yourself. These days we live in bigger groups and people get away with things that would have been corrected in a smaller tribe.

I'm kind of referring to things like the Free Rider Problem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-rider_problem and Tragedy of the commons and altruism and related things that I find interesting to study. My point is, things happen for a reason that can be understood to some degree if you think about physics (to explain how things in nature happen like earthquakes, floods, famines etc) and chem/bio (to understand how things happen regarding disease, which you are well schooled in :) ) and psychology (to understand the choices people make) and sociology (to understand how people act in groups). Also an interesting way to understand how people think is studied in the field of Evolutionary Psychology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_psychology which tries to explain how human behavior developed in our past when we lived in these smaller tribes.

One final thing which is cool, in my opinion. There is a fairly new field of research called Social Simulation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_simulation When you set up a computer simulation of individual agents (people) with parameters that are simplified but close to what you see in the world, it is amazing how often the simulation displays very realistic dynamics which are similar to what we see in the real world. To me, this points to the view that the world is naturalistic and follows rules we can discover through science. Not to say there is anything wrong with people believing in whatever of the thousands of deities that have been worshiped in history and today. Just saying that I think it is worth studying things a lot of people spent a lot of time trying to understand over the centuries. There really are some answers or hints of answers out there if you study the sciences, in my opinion.

Great great comment.

I have not heard of most of the new areas of science but I will agree with the fact that we don't live in small tribes again me that why we are not able to see if things really happen the way they ought to.

Social stimulation is something I will like to read about and understand as this us the first time I am encountering it.

I will also check theodicy out and see whether I can get to understand a few things.

Thank you so much for this encouraging and well crafted comment.

@bhoa, these seem like very logical questions. The good guy suffers and the baddie prospers If you ask a pastor/Moulvi/Guru they will give you answers like 'its a test'. but in some cases, you will find that the good guy actually gets rewarded and the badie suffers, .. so what's the answer there? The truth to me is that nobody knows, and that's where the comfort is, all you can do is work on yourself and gut feeling that you and everyone knows right from wrong. To push yourself against the wrong and strive for the good, .. should be good enough. The creator (i believe) would not expect anything more than that from us... that is just my belief BTW. on Putin and the current war - I never follow the narrative of the reporters/correspondents and governments of this world.

Thank you for your comment.

To push yourself against the wrong and strive for the good, .. should be good enough.

I believe this should be what everyone should strive for.
Try to be good despite whatever is happening.
I just feel that the most important reason to strive to do good is to have some peace of mind.

on Putin and the current war - I never follow the narrative of the reporters/correspondents and governments of this world.

Well, I believe in every rumour there is always an element of truth.

But maybe I really have did deep before I take sides tho

I thought you would include the answer you think God would give you though as you only asked the question.
I asked the same question yesterday on my post and I assumed God's answer is in the book of Isaiah 57 vs 1 where He says God takes the righteous, the good one before the day of calamity and evils. God would have seen the future and knows His reason for many things we are so confused of. For the bad ones, He actually was giving time of repentance as He doesn't want the sinners to suffer and die just like that. I believe there is Karma for every actions we do as humans and even though we can't see the repercussions on them, they still get punished for their sins.

I really do not have an answer I would like to receive
I like your contribution with the Bible verse but looking at it from the angle is worrisome and will lead to more questions

Good comment..

Thank you for stopping by

You are right. Questions will keep coming in because it is a topic we can never find answers to as humans because we can never understand God.
