First, it doesn't matter the close relationship you have with God or what stage of spiritual journey you are in before having some thoughts and question's that bothers you or come to your mind. Sometimes different questions and thoughts pops up in our head when our faith is been tested or shaken,having difficulty in making decisions, or things around us are not going accordingly as we planned it. But come to think of it, are we able to ask God questions at all times even if some are irrelevant? I believe yes. As Christians, bible made us to understand that at some point in our life, when we are probably facing some major problems or trying to make a decision and wondering what option to go for, ask God to guide you.
Thing is,God wants us to get close to him that's why He made his name known to us in the bible:Isaiah 42:5, 8,Exodus 3:15,Deuteronomy 4:39.
And for him to have want us to know his name,He knew we'll have a lot of questions to ask him & since we know his name,we can easily refer to him whenever we have questions to ask
Matthew 7:7 also talk about God giving us the opportunity to ask & it shall be given,knock & it will be opened......
Personally, there 're lots of questions i would love to ask God but I'm only given an opportunity to ask one question;
If i could have the chance to ask God one question it will definitely be what his will is in my life.
Why this question?
Asking God for his will for one's life is more like questioning him the reason for my existence or purpose.
In one sense God’s will is something that will always happen no matter what. When God states that something will happen, it does. No one could have stopped Jesus from dying on the cross for the sins of the world, because that's the purpose of his existence here on earth which is to fulfil man's redemption, for Jesus said in the book of john 6:38: "for I have come down from heaven to do, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me".
So the answer to this question from God will go a long way for me because it is more like him giving you full guidelines on how he wants me to live my life.
The answer i would want to hear is:
"Dear child, just as you have known that I your God knows what's in your heart and even before you ask and pray to me for guidance. And for you to do this shows how much faith you have in me and I'm pleased to answer you just as you want me to.
Just as you have known that you can do many things without me your God (get an education...good qualification...start a business…acquire wealth…etc.), but only in me can you find true joy and fulfillment in you.
Since you are interested in knowing my plans for you, there are something's i want you to do, which is to learn to walk with me,spend time in reading my words, taking time for prayers. i want us to have a strong relationship,like a father and son. You need to develop a strong relationship with me in that you will have so much urge to wanting to know more about me as each day passes by. I want you to be fully committed to whatever i want you to desire not what you truly want, as it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
As you taking this steps of faith and learn to recognize my leading, you will grow spiritually and it will also strengthen your relationship with me. And that will confirm you are with me.
