Children and love for nature

Hello all friends of @ecotrain, there is a topic that can not fail to be important and its promotion depends on our life on the planet, this is the love of nature. Nowadays and with the pandemic, the isolation of our children and young people is becoming more evident, many of us have made technology the culprit of this isolation, that they spend hours glued to technological devices such as phones, computers and video games and do not manage to enjoy and admire what the environment offers them. Even modern life and new urbanisms, in countries where there are barely small spaces to breathe fresh air make me think about the need to make future generations manage to love and value nature.

We adults are responsible for ensuring that children and young people are truly in love with and committed to nature and its care. We are the ones who with our example can improve the sad situation in which we have put the planet. Today it seems that we have forgotten the pandemic, it seems that diseases and new viruses have no importance and many failed to understand what Mother Earth and the universe itself told us clearly and concisely, it is time to stop the abuse and mistreatment of nature, it is time to respect all species, it is time to return to life in harmony with the environment.

Therefore, I must insist that as adults we must take advantage of the moments we have with our children and young people at home to establish strategies that allow them to develop their ecological awareness and especially the love for everything we share on the planet. Make them understand that human beings are a small part of the millions of species that inhabit this wonderful place and that at this moment we were given the opportunity to share this space and time. In my personal case as a defender of nature, animals and life in harmony with my young children I establish rules and ways to care for the environment.

Although our house is in a closed and small urbanism we have a yard not very big but big enough to have plants and flowers. When we moved to this house I had to remove the cement from the patio because we didn't have any soil and the house didn't have a space for plants. I realized that not having plants in our urbanization was very hot and we had no shade or green areas. At that moment I grouped the neighbors, we are really few, only 13 families and each one committed to create their own green area in front of their homes and so today we have small spaces that give freshness and vitality to the urbanism. My children and I take care of our green spaces, they are 4 and 5 years old, but each one has tasks such as watering their trees and flowers and always keeping their small yard and front yard clean.

As the kids showed us to be careful and attentive with the plants we now have some rabbits. They had been asking for rabbits for a long time, well now we have a couple and they are really happy and spend less time playing video games or watching TV and more time learning about nature and developing a love for it.

Good topic that you share with us, children and their genuine love for animals and plants is what essentially gives life to everything around us, without that aptitude of children everything would be a complete chaos.

we have a rabbit too!;)
like the idea of your post and dream of living in my own house too
