My Thoughts on North Korea's Rocket Launcher Drills

I came across a news article recently about North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un.

He was reportedly overseeing live-fire drills with big rocket launchers and I thought to myself, what could be happening there?

It seems that North Korea is always in the news for its weapons and military activities.

First of all, let me say that I dislike the idea of countries testing their weapons or showing off how powerful they are militarily. That’s just so creepy and it makes me think about what if things go wrong?

Instead of flexing muscles can’t nations just negotiate?

North Korea’s Kim Jong Un appears very passionate about these military exercises. He is always present at such events giving instructions to his soldiers.

It is as though he takes pride in having large numbers of dangerous weaponry. But instead of feeling proud on this, I am afraid. Why does he need all these guns?

The news has said that these exercises are aimed at checking missiles and seeing if they function properly in a real war.

However, why does North Korea have to prepare for war? Instead of producing more guns than people’s happiness.

Also, it is worrisome that North Korea tests these rockets in violation of international rules. They are not supposed to do this, but they still continue doing it.

This means that they are not afraid of any consequences or opinions from the other countries.

When I look at the photos of Kim Jong Un watching those exercises conducted by his countrymen and women, he appears to me as very serious and determined.

It looks like he wants to show the world through such acts that his county cannot be easily messed with. However, from where I stand, all I see is an individual who tries so much to prove himself right.

Why does North Korea continue to ratchet up its missile tests? Don’t they know that others are getting jitters? It’s like they are playing a dangerous game and I worry about what may happen if tensions do not abate.

The news also said South Korea and Japan were scared of these rockets test. It must be terrifying for them to have a neighbor such as North Korea that always tests missiles and talks war.

Not being able to think of residing in an area where every moment is tense due to the chances of violence.

North Korea seems uninterested in peace talks or any other means by which conflicts could be resolved amicably, it’s so frustrating. Instead, their focus lies on making bigger and more terrifying war machines. It is like they are caught up in a cycle of aggression and defiance.

I wish there was a means of persuading North Korea to change its ways and pursue peace as well.

Maybe more countries could come together to force them out of testing weapons because they might listen then. However, when one is dealing with such type leader like Kim Jong Un, it’s hard to know what will make a difference.

I just hope in the end that North Korea comes to realize that peace is the best for all. We must not live in a world where nations are always readying themselves for war.

Let us pray for the time when North Korea abandons its weapons and makes up its mind to move with others towards a brighter future.
