I just did a road trip to visit Arkansas for a wedding, my first time driving through southern Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas. It was quite the trek, luckily it was just across the border from Missouri-a mere 13 hours from Cleveland, Ohio.
While we were driving through the middle of Missouri, we spotted a sign for the Dig It! record Barn, so I decided that it was a must-stop on the way back, as I very much "dig" checking out the dollar bins in different parts of the country!
I'll do a pinmapple post on the exact location and more detailed photos, but today I will just share some of the 80s club stuff that I found,..with some more posts to ensure, as I brought home 40 or 50 records, probably!
Trinere
"I Know You Love Me"
1984
"How Can We Be Wrong"
1986
Trinere is a famous name when it comes to Freestyle, and her producer on these two records is probably even more well known, Tony Butler AKA Pretty Tony AKA Freestyle. I didn't know these two cuts, but since I saw that Pretty Tony was producing them, I knew to snag them!
Lauren Grey & Leah Landis
"Destiny"
1987
Both of these ladies appeared to have a couple of solo releases before collaborating on this record. Leah Landis is from Dayton, Ohio and a former member of The Lovers, a group that put out a few records in the early 80s. Unfortunately, Lauren Grey seems to be a little more of a mystery, although they seemed to share the same label, Dice Records.
Montage
"The Boy is Hot"
1983
