Do you have a Christmas memory that feels magical even now?
(If you celebrate a holiday other than Christmas, please talk of it, instead!)
Celebration's days it's always a remarkable date in someone's life. It my be Christmas celebration, marriage, child dedication, marriage anniversary, etc. Each of these events comes with a dates and those dates is not easy to forget. Though i don't celebrate Christmas. But have an important event i do celebrate one's in a year. Will you like to know about it? Yes i know. And won't hesitate to let you about this special event in my life.
Why i commemorate Jesus death instead of his birth.
Christmas celebration is widely celebrated around the world every 25th December with the claim that it was Jesus birthday. After serious and series of research, i found out that's no were his birthday was mentioned. Both in the Bible or in other historical books. And he has never command his disciples to celebrate his birthday in any form. Through research, i found out that the celebration of Christmas has been there before Christianity. It was a celebration formed by pegan worshipers to celebrate their winter solstice. And was letter adopted by Christian's as Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Though his date of birth was not mentioned in the Bible.
Still on my research, i found out that before Jesus death, he conducted an evening meal with his disciples. In this celebration, he used wine and bread which he gave his disciples representing his body and blood. What did he tell them? I quote Jesus at Luk chapter 22:9. Please read below 👇🏿.
Luke 22:19. Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body, which is to be given in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me
He said keep doing this in remembrance of me. This was a clear command from Jesus. So, i do celebrate Jesus death (the last supper or memorial of Jesus death) just as he has command every year. From my research, it was celebrated on Nissan 14th Jews calendar after sundown. So, once it's Nissan 14 which sometimes falls between March and April according to my own calendar 🗓️, i join millions of people around the world who observe this commandments to celebrate Jesus death.
Why is his death more important to me? Because Jesus ransom sacrifice open up a way for salvation. Due to Adams sin, we there offspring lost the hope of everlasting life. So, a perfect man Jesus agreed to die to rescue us from sin and death. That's why celebrate or commemorate his death instead of Christmas.
Jesus and his disciples celebrating the last supper with the commandments. Keep doing this in remembrance of me. Being ones of his disciples today, i keep to this commandments. I celebrate 🥂 it.
