Guidelines for my younger self
I am so delighted that I have the opportunity to give you guidance and words of wisdom on this journey of life. I will share some insight with you that will help you face the realities of life. I know this journey is not easy, which is why I am giving you this little guideline and word of wisdom.
- Never give up; never give up on life, no matter what life throws at you. In general, life is not easy. There are a lot of ups and downs, and many challenges will come. You need to stand up and fight. Giving up is never an option. Never let the world think you are weak; you need to struggle to succeed in life. You can’t achieve what you want if you give up. You need to fight. My late father will always tell me to fight for whatever you want. Never give up. Break any obstacles on your way. So their younger selves never give up.
- Don’t be afraid of failure.Yes, you have tried something, and he keeps failing. You have tried out many things, and you are still not getting it. Don’t panic. See the failure as a means of learning. There is nothing wrong with failing, but there will be problems when you fail and refuse to stand up. See that failure as an opportunity to show them that you are not a failure and let them know you are smart and strong. This is me during my West African examination. I sat for the exam three times. I never allowed my failure to define me; rather, I stood up to my feet and fought the failure.
- Surround yourself with people who will help you in this journey of life—people who will inspire and motivate you, people who will add value to your life, people who are ready to build with you, people who have the same vision as you. Always remember this popular saying: “Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are.“ Have it in the back of your mind that people you call friends can either build or ruin you. So choose wisely.
- Believe in yourself: Build up your self-esteem and self-confidence. Never let anyone make you feel less of yourself.

Dear younger self, I wish you could ask me questions about my guidance and words of wisdom. Just know you are a strong woman. Never allow anyone to make you think less of yourself. I want you to fight and never give up on yourself and your goals.
