What the actual F#$%@? So since I started my path to a better life, I've been committed to exercising in the pool, swimming, building muscle, and losing fat. I am also reducing portion sizes and cutting carbs wherever I can.
I was absolutely horrified when I climbed on the scale at the doctor's office and I gained like 5kg! I started making excuses like "My weight fluctuates strongly when I'm about to have my period," and "it's not weigh day" and "I normally weigh myself in the mornings, but he was very nonchalant as I fought back tears.
So why have I put on weight instead of losing it?
Well, it's been a while since I've been down this path.
@zakludick restored my faith and reminded me that I have been building muscle in the pool. After a year of being a "blanket blob," I am finally out there trying to get my life back, building muscle to support my knee and exercising. In a little while, my metabolism will catch up and the scales will tip, quite literally. I think my metabolism thought I was a bear in hibernation so it's definitely still in "store mode."
So, although I felt totally demoralized for a bit, thinking about it properly gave me new faith. This is a sign that muscle is being built! Muscle weighs more than fat and eventually, the muscle will help eradicate fat cells on its own.
The moral of the story is: "Just Keep Swimming!"
We received some free-range eggs as a gift and they were incredible. That is low GI toast you see sticking out there. like before you judge! I am trying :p
I must admit though, I totally fell off the wagon this weekend and I was terribly naughty this weekend. It was Halloween you know!? 😱 So I made amazing cupcakes... and totally cheated. Zak tried to bring me a chocolate the other day... and it's my favourite but I was like, no. I will not break! Look! It's on my nightstand, in full view!
But why? Why in God's name does my baking have to be so yummy? It's not my fault... but I totally purged. I had one last night and three for breakfast this morning. Never mind the deformed ones that accidentally fell into my mouth.
Just look at this caramel-filled monstrosity!
Also, You don't realize how much icing you consume while you are, well, icing.
Ok ok, so from tonight I'm back on track! Protein and veg <3 I'm ready for you! Wish me luck for the road I am on. Sometimes I'll stumble, but my goal is clear <3
