Rosy cheeks and lips
She talks but nobody listens
That's just the way of the world
I gotta fight like a girl
Running around with her long hair
Tear in her dress and she don't care
If you're looking for something beautiful

WOMEN ARE HUMANS.

I'll start this by efficiently pointing out the fact that before anything, women are flesh and they are blood. They feel, they think, they perceive. They see and they fear. Women function just like the men do in the areas of development. The difference is that they are soft and tender and they lack muscles. Physically...

THE PAST VERSUS THE PRESENT...

From the tales of women who were born in the 90s, it was never an easy task being the female. The women were raised with the mindset to serve and not be seen; to give and not take; to be quiet no matter what. Women were seen as disposable and replaceable. Especially in Africa.

Unfortunately, it is worse today. The difference is that women found a way to rise and stand for themselves. They fought for what they believe in and sought to find their place in the harsh world.

While they have found their place, it results to a backlash. Now that women have the mindset of a winner, an achiever and a limit breaker, they are still trampled on but this time for being a success. The system seeks to limit them by bringing back the archaic doctrines even in schools and religious spaces. This is evident in Nigeria.

A WOMAN'S PLACE.

I would tell you first and foremost that a woman is human. Yet, a woman was given her place in the world and it wasn't an insignificant position. The narrow-minded patriarchs of this generation have sought to break the woman's spine because they want to keep the her in-check.

Before we can establish the place of the woman we must find out her strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, I am not in support of the motion,

What a man can do, a woman can do better.

If we tell ourselves the truth, there are various things a man does a woman can't do. The woman has her place and it's not to compete with man-power neither is it to be a doormat or a voiceless chicken. So who is the woman? What is her place?

The place of the woman is right beside the man not behind or infront. I know many would have contrary beliefs...

Still, the woman was declared a helpmate. Which means she's every bit entitled to respect, to opinions and to authority too. A woman's place isn't behind the man. This belief is the reason why many cultures are still adamant that the woman is a servant.

She is human before anything else.

I believe that a woman deserves equal rights in pursuit of career, dreams and aspirations. A woman has the right to be heard and to speak.

If she worked for it, she should have it. If she's earned it, she deserves it. A woman with a motive shouldn't be put down.

She should be groomed and modeled into a great asset. Hence, the movement for the support and protection of the girl child.

A woman– contrary to what many think– is a great analyst, planner, regulator and stabilizer. She sees 10 feet ahead and is ready with a plan B. This is why she is a Helper. So I support this notion instead...

What the woman can do, she does it well.

THANKS FOR READING, SAYONARA!

It is appalling that some people still think like the old decades when we are already far ahead. I hope more will accept the fact that women are equally human as men. I love your finishing quote!

there are various things a man does a woman can't do

This right here!! I think we have to come to a place of understanding where we realize it is not a competition. Basically, women just need to be treated as humans that they are with the same respect and love given to everyone. The woman is strong in her field and so is the man. If the man isn't denied a right same should apply to the woman.

The fact that you pointed the first paragraph in a clear and precise format made me convinced! The only difference is that they lack muscle and physique like you said!
A woman who knows her place would be very much wise enough to know her limit too! Not compete with a man's power!

I enjoy reading this!

What the woman can do, she does it well.

I do support the notion too that what a man can do, a woman can do better, but as I grew up and understand some things, I knew there are some areas women can´t compete with men. Hence, women are human and should be given their rights too. When she works for it, she should definitely earn it and not underestimate her strength. I came via @dreemport

Yes. I do believe that this competition has destroyed more than it has built. While there's clarity, there's more chaos.

The woman has her place and it's not to compete with man-power

I wish more people saw things like this! In fact we all have our place and it should never be to compete with others. We generally work best as human beings when we collaborate rather than compete, although competition at its best can drive innovation, so too can collaboration 🙌 Women certainly should not be competing against men. Each has their own set of strengths and their respective power comes from recognising this and working together to pull the best out of each other for the good of all. Thank you for the invite Deraaa, I shall take a look 🤗!ALIVE !LUV

This is true. And now, I've gotten knowledge from reading your comment. Thank you for taking the time to read. I appreciate it.

It is unfortunate that in many other places there is the idea that women are helpers of men and not that they are on the same level. I, on the other hand, believe that women can do anything and are no less than anyone. Thanks for sharing 😊

And now, I’ve got a new quote:

What the woman can do, she does it well.

I’ve always said that a woman is human, so she deserves to be shown respect. And she has a full-formed brain like that of a man, so why should her words be less regarded?

This is a lovely piece, Deraaa. Till next time!

Oh thank you so much for reading and women are underestimated. But we do have our strengths and trying to take what is more than us is not wise. Thank you so much for your support ❤️

Oh, you’re welcome!

I landed here via Dreemport - big thanks to @samsmith1971 and @blackdaisyft for introducing me to this platform - it seems like a great idea to me.

Relating to your post @deraaa, I believe you are absolutely correct, women can do a job just as well as a man and oftentimes better. Of course there are some jobs that men might be better equipped physically to do, but it never stops women from trying to do those jobs as well. Equality for every human is the least we should see in a modern world. We have come a long way in our society in Ireland, but there is more to do.

I feel so honored you took the time to read my post and comment. Dreemport is indeed amazing. And I agree. There are things i find myself doing that to society is unladylike. In terms of work. And truly, we still have a long way to go.

This is well written and I like how you tried to be very objective while making your point. It is laudable.

When it comes to Africa and the way many women are sidelined in decision making even in her own family, it shows that we still have a very long way to go. Some women have already developed a mindset that makes them doubt their own voice, abilities and capability.

On the bright side, I'm glad that this new generation of women men are ready to be themselves and do what they want even when the society is stepping is making it hard for them.
