She talks but nobody listens
That's just the way of the world
I gotta fight like a girl
Running around with her long hair
Tear in her dress and she don't care
If you're looking for something beautiful
WOMEN ARE HUMANS.
I'll start this by efficiently pointing out the fact that before anything, women are flesh and they are blood. They feel, they think, they perceive. They see and they fear. Women function just like the men do in the areas of development. The difference is that they are soft and tender and they lack muscles. Physically...
THE PAST VERSUS THE PRESENT...
From the tales of women who were born in the 90s, it was never an easy task being the female. The women were raised with the mindset to serve and not be seen; to give and not take; to be quiet no matter what. Women were seen as disposable and replaceable. Especially in Africa.
Unfortunately, it is worse today. The difference is that women found a way to rise and stand for themselves. They fought for what they believe in and sought to find their place in the harsh world.
While they have found their place, it results to a backlash. Now that women have the mindset of a winner, an achiever and a limit breaker, they are still trampled on but this time for being a success. The system seeks to limit them by bringing back the archaic doctrines even in schools and religious spaces. This is evident in Nigeria.
A WOMAN'S PLACE.
I would tell you first and foremost that a woman is human. Yet, a woman was given her place in the world and it wasn't an insignificant position. The narrow-minded patriarchs of this generation have sought to break the woman's spine because they want to keep the her in-check.
Before we can establish the place of the woman we must find out her strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, I am not in support of the motion,
What a man can do, a woman can do better.
If we tell ourselves the truth, there are various things a man does a woman can't do. The woman has her place and it's not to compete with man-power neither is it to be a doormat or a voiceless chicken. So who is the woman? What is her place?
The place of the woman is right beside the man not behind or infront. I know many would have contrary beliefs...
Still, the woman was declared a helpmate. Which means she's every bit entitled to respect, to opinions and to authority too. A woman's place isn't behind the man. This belief is the reason why many cultures are still adamant that the woman is a servant.
She is human before anything else.
I believe that a woman deserves equal rights in pursuit of career, dreams and aspirations. A woman has the right to be heard and to speak.
If she worked for it, she should have it. If she's earned it, she deserves it. A woman with a motive shouldn't be put down.
She should be groomed and modeled into a great asset. Hence, the movement for the support and protection of the girl child.
A woman– contrary to what many think– is a great analyst, planner, regulator and stabilizer. She sees 10 feet ahead and is ready with a plan B. This is why she is a Helper. So I support this notion instead...
What the woman can do, she does it well.
