I hope you’re all having an amazing day. Isn’t it fun how contests like these encourage us to share and engage in topics that affect our everyday lives?
Who doesn’t sit at work everyday. Do we know its more of harm to seat for extended periods? A big shoutout to our sister @merit.ahama for starting this conversation about the hacks or exercises we use to reduce sedentary challenges!
I feel drawn to this topic because, honestly, we women often face these challenges the most. Just take a look at many offices, and you’ll notice that women often fill roles like receptionists, admins, and secretaries.
These jobs usually involve long hours of sitting, staring at a computer screen or handling books. Over time, this can lead to some serious issues. For example, some women might even struggle to walk comfortably because their bodies get so used to staying in one position for too long.
This is what we call sedentary challenges, the health problems that come from sitting for extended periods.
So, What Are My Hacks to Reduce Sedentary Challenges?
1. I Never Sit for More Than an Hour
Sitting too long can reduce blood flow because the muscles that help pump blood to the heart are relaxed. To avoid this, I’ve made it a habit to stand up and stretch regularly.
And honestly, on some days, when I’ve stretched and still feel stiff, I’ll go chat with my gossip buddy for a few minutes just to get moving and have a laugh!
2. Staying Hydrated
This is a big one for me. I don’t just drink water; I make it fun by adding fruits like watermelon, bananas, or oranges. Cucumber is also a great option. Keeping my body hydrated helps me feel refreshed and keeps my circulation healthy.
3. Enjoying Facebook Content
Spending time watching content on Facebook always fills me with happiness and laughter. After all, it’s good to find things that make us smile, right?
Lately, I’ve been entertained by a trending animal, the warthog. It’s so funny to watch! One clip had me laughing so hard: a warthog was being chased by a tiger. At first, it ran super fast, then it slowed down, almost like it wanted the tiger to overtake it. it suddenly sped up, running 10 times faster to escape. That clever move left me amazed!
I appreciate the time spent reading this piece on my blog. I wish you the best of the day. Stay safe.
