Happiness is a deeply personal experience, varying greatly from one individual to another based on the factors that contribute to their joy. For some, it may be from relationships; for others, it arises from passions, interests, acts of kindness, or personal freedom.
For me, my true happiness comes in several ways which I will mention below:
- Gratitude is my number one way to true happiness. Acts of gratitude are central to my happiness and play a crucial role in my daily life. Simply being able to sleep and wake up each day feels like a blessing I am grateful for. The moment I wake up till I lay my head down at night is enough to give gratitude. If you’ve ever spent time in a hospital, you will understand the importance of gratitude to God. I express my thanks at any moment, even in the face of adversity, as I strive to maintain a grateful heart.
Generosity and kindness: Another source of my undeniable joy is my generous spirit. I find profound happiness in giving to the needy and less privileged; their smiles bring me immense joy. My day feels incomplete if I cannot give back. This passion led me to join the Pyramid of Hearts charity organization, where we support those in need. I’m thrilled to share that our outreach has expanded to six states in Nigeria. I pray for the opportunity to establish my own charity foundation, as it fills me with joy to help others find happiness through my efforts.
Family is another vital aspect of my happiness. My family, especially my children, is my everyday source of joy. Their mere presence uplifts me, and even on my darkest days, their love and support inspire me to keep going. They are my life, my joy, and my ultimate happiness, and I cherish every moment with them.
Financial stability plays a significant role in my happiness. While money isn't everything, it undeniably facilitates a sense of security and achievement. When I have financial resources, my joy knows no bounds. Conversely, when my account runs low, I often feel a sense of boredom that can impact my overall well-being. Money, while not a means to happiness, certainly enhances my daily living.
Positive and genuine people. Surrounding myself with positive people goes a very long way toward determining my happiness. People, who are ready to lift me whenever I am down not people who will condemn me. This will create a supportive environment that fosters growth, motivation, and overall well-being in my existence.
So, why do I pursue my happiness? Because it brings me joy, improves my mental health and well-being, provides a sense of fulfillment, and has a positive impact on those around me. A true way to long life and wellness is happiness.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Try to make yourself happy!
