So many things on my mind but these are special to me. LOH #192

Hi everyone! Welcome to another blessed week, it shall be our week of good news🙏 @merit.ahama, thanks for dishing out a memorable question like this.

What old or worn-out thing I cannot simply part with?

     **My beloved pots**

My precious pots

These precious pots, bestowed upon me by my loving mother in 2004, have been my faithful companions, my confidants, my comfort objects. They've witnessed my growth, my struggles, and my triumphs. When I had no food to cook, we cried together and when I had food to cook, we laughed and rejoiced together. Their sturdy presence has been a constant reminder of my mother's love and care.

Throughout my university days, they faithfully served me, holding warm meals of concoction rice and soothing soups with no condiments🤣. After graduation, everything returned home with me including my special pots, because they are symbols of nostalgia and fond memories. Even during my National Youth Service, they accompanied me to Bauchi State in Nigeria, a reassuring connection to my past.

When I started my new life with my husband in 2013, they gracefully adapted to their new home, continuing to serve us with unwavering dedication. Anytime, I want to cook okro or ewedu(jute leaf), these pots were and still are the best👍 My children have grown up watching these pots lovingly prepare meals, and they've heard the stories of their resilience and strength. How their Mom maintained the pots for years because she has a maintenance culture sense and this has been used to instill discipline in them too. They must be able to take care of their personal belongings.

Can I let go even when they are tired? No!

These pots are more than just kitchen utensils; they're a testament to the love and values passed down from my mother and I want to reciprocate those values to my children too. They represent the warmth, comfort, and security of home. Their worn handles and faint scratches only add to their charm, telling the tale of countless meals shared, laughter, and memories created.

Are you thinking if I don't have new pots? Of course, I have more.

While newer, fancier, expensive pots may have entered our home, these three remain my treasures, my heritage, and my heart's delight. They'll continue to hold a special place in my kitchen and my heart, a reminder of the love that has shaped me and the memories that make life worth living.

   **My Shoe Rack**

Saving a life since 2005

Another beautiful thing is my shoe rack, I saved my money to make this special shoe rack in 2005. Do you believe this has also been going around with me? It is strong and of good quality with a low budget compared to the inferior qualities used nowadays. Can you the number of years this thing has been made? 19 good years I have passed this to my daughter and I gave her the lecture on maintenance culture🤣

I will only let go if I have the opportunity to relocate to another country 😏 or maybe I can try to carry them along, hehe🤣🤣 but I will definitely miss them.

Lol I least expected to see pots as an example of worn out things, you surprised me hehe.

I'm sure the pots aren't tired of you too, they still look very strong and ready to go more years with you.
