When you're sick, what home remedy gets you back on your feet the quickest? Explain how it works.
One thing I'm truly grateful for is that I hardly fall sick these days; the only few times is when I expose myself to too much cold, and then I catch a catarrh. When this happens, I would put hot water inside a bucket, put a methylator inside the hot water, and then cover myself with my thick blanket. The steaming heat from the water would be absorbed by my body, and this will make me sweat out any cold out of my system. This has worked very well for me, and I never have to take any medicine for my cold.
Over five years ago, I used to suffer fever frequently, like once or twice a month. I was spending money on treatment all of the time, and it was very frustrating. Until a friend told me about the healing power of garlic 🧄 Back then, twice a week, I would take three to four cloves of garlic and then swallow it with water; I do not like the smell. If not, I should be chewing it instead of swallowing it. But I discovered that it works.
Gradually, I no longer experience fever like I used to; in fact, I Haven't gotten a fever for over a year now. And I no longer rely on garlic that much except the ones I put inside some of my soups once in a while. You know I'm very careful not to be taking garlic too much since it doesn't come with a prescription. I have to be very careful with it.
If I'm to think of home remedies in times of sickness, garlic is my number one. Over the years, it has helped to strengthen my immune system and prevented me from getting sick like I used to. Whenever I reflect back on my health journey, I'm always grateful for that special friend who taught me how to use garlic for my overall health benefits.
When I have a cough, my remedy is simple and effective. I would put one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of lime water, mix it together, and take it twice a day, and my cough would be gone within two days. This is the most effective cough remedy I have known, and thanks to it, I never have to buy cough syrup anymore, but it shouldn't be given to kids under one year old; kids less than one year should not be taking honey.
A long time ago, I used to suffer from severe stomach ulcers; it was so bad that it made me sick all the time and I spent a lot of money buying medicine. Until I came in contact with a herbal medicine practitioner on a TV program, thanks to him I discovered that I could use honey with Irish potatoes to gradually heal my ulcer. I would get about twenty pieces of Irish potatoes, wash them thoroughly, slice them, and put them inside the sun to try. Afterwards, I will grind it into powder form. I would mix the potato powder with an adequate amount of honey and start taking it—two tablespoons twice a day.

By taking the above, gradually my ulcer began to heal. Of course, I made some adjustments to my eating habits by eating on time and doing away with foods that aggravate my ulcer wound; this complemented the remedy and made my healing process faster. And now it's been over nine years since I got free from ulcers.
These are some of my home remedies that have helped me a great deal healthwise. As my participation in this week's ladies of hive community contest and you can join us Here
