Motherhood is the state of being a mother. This most commonly happens when their child is born, but it can also happen through adoption or by marrying or becoming a partner to someone with children.
Single motherhood is a gender-specific version of the term parenthood without an opposite spouse.
You may ask your self what makes single motherhood different from the motherhood?
The role of motherhood does not differ in any way but the society differentiate according to your marital status before bearing a child. From this part of my country where I come from, single motherhood is seen as a taboo(abomination) because you are expected to bear children only as a married woman. it is as bad that some parents have to disown there children just because they got pregnant out of wedlock. Some will face some abuse or terrible challenges from the society and If the lady isn't strong enough to stand all the troubles, may see suicide or abortion as an alternative. Which is totally wrong. Some single mothers even transfer the hatred to the innocent child due to the pain they feel the child cause them, but forget that those children can move them to places they don't expect.
Children are gift from God. I know most time is difficult to fend for your self and your child(ren) and maybe with little earning, I know most times you get tired and wish there is a man that could also speak for you, just keep pushing, you are nothing less than a strong, courageous, hardworking woman. You are a mother, a warrior of your child(ren). The joy of your parenting is to see your child(ren) great. So give them the best you can, soon, everything will be a history and you will smile to say the story.
