Yongi & ice cream!
That's my answer to one of this week's questions on the 209th Edition of the Ladies of Hive Prompts, re:
What makes you smile when you’re having a bad day?
Having learned the art of appreciating the little things in life and letting go of things that disturb my peace, I seldom have a bad day. But on those rare occasions when my hormones act up, I have an easy fix. Both of my boys cheer me up. Add a cone of ice cream and you've my perfect antidote.
I kid you not! 😁
Before Yongi joined our small clan, Ice Cream had the crown (king). The hubby is on the second spot, the prince so to speak (Ssshhh... he doesn't know so don't tell, lol!)
But yeah, we both love cold delights, and I've mentioned in some of my previous publications that ice cream (either in a cone, plastic wrapper, or box) is one of our guilty pleasures. No buts, ifs, or whatever else. We just go for it.
And then we met this little prince over a year ago and he has since dethroned the cone. You would not blame me, would you? Just look at him :)
A look like that doesn't need further reasoning or explanation as to why this Lil Guy makes us smile, even the Farmboy could not resist his charms (his little kisses, tantrums, and other antics). He melts our hearts no matter what he does.
Anyhow, after a video call with my boys last night, I took a quick trip to 7-11 and got myself a treat.
I felt sorry for Mom and my sister because they could not even take a bite. Mom was fasting for her scheduled scan and my sissy has allergies to cold treats so I gobbled it all up before they got tempted and pleaded for a taste, lol! I made a deal that they would get their choice of treats when their health improved. Fair enough, yeah?😅
So yeah, when my hormones get the better of me, Yongi and ice cream are my boosters. Not only them actually, but simple things like a fart (mom gives me that a lot these days, lol), a blooming flower, a warm hug, etc can shift my mood.
What are yours? Share them too :)
Thanks and have a fabulous new week!
