Happy Monday, dear Hivers! How's school or work? I hope you're all doing well. Recently, Our senior manager resigned from her position due to health reasons. People from our department were in shock as her resignation was effective immediately.
Our department prepared a simple send off dinner for her, opting for a healthier food options like mango kani rolls and chicken, since Maam Janice loves healthy foods. But we also had pizza and fries because that's what everyone else enjoys.
Each of us wrote a short heartfelt message and collectively placed it in a picture frame as our token of appreciation. I know her as someone who's always calm and very passionate with her work, loves to eat sweet potatoes with chopsticks for lunch, and makes crochet as her past time. We even planned to create a crochet club in our office so she could teach us her craft. I can't say I'm close to her, but just relatively comfortable.
By the end of our dinner, she hugged each one of us and when it was my turn, I was touch that she still remember when i told her that i wanted to learn how to sew clothes.
"The secret to success is good leadership. And good leadership is all about making the lives of your team members or workers better"
Up to this day, I'm still unsure about this career path that i have now. But because of Maam Janice, I now know that I want to become a good leader. While im still in this organization, I will try to hone my skills in every way possible so when the time comes, I will be ready and equiped. Easier said than done, I know.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some hugs and kisses
Love, Jane
