LOH #92 || TO THE LAND OF SAKURA

in #hive-1244522 years ago

Hello ladies, hello world! Here we are again for another week, in which @elizabethbit invited us to answer any of her two questions for Ladies of Hive Community Contest #92. Before anything else, I would like to invite @ayane-chan and @jijisaurart to participate in this week's topic.

If you were given a round-trip airline ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you choose to go, and specifically, why?

One of my dreams has been revived by this week's question. A dream to travel to a certain country where I can see the splendor of cherry blossoms or sakura. My absolute fantasy is to be able to hold them in my hands, feel their softness and smell them. I was interested in seeing a genuine one because I had only seen photographs of them online.

So to be able to see a real one, I wished to visit Japan someday. But as time goes by, I realized that there are still other factors driving my desire to travel there, aside from cherry blossoms.

One factor is that I desired to visit a village that displayed its finest bonsai trees. And one of the greatest sites to see bonsai is in Tokyo's Omiya Bonsai Village, which also features a top-notch Bonsai Art Museum that teaches the various facets of bonsai (source).

My spouse was the one who introduced me to bonsai trees, years ago. And I was astounded at how artistically the plant was grown in a pot using just a little soil to keep it from expanding to its full size. He cherished bonsai trees, some of which he was able to craft himself.

The 1st picture is the Ehretia microphylla - Fukien Tea, Fujian Tea, Philippine Tea, Forest Tea, or Wild Tea (source) while the 2nd picture is we both didn't know its name, lol. These two were made years ago and were sold already.

The next factor is that I wanted to taste some of their popular Japanese dishes like sushi, sashimi, ramen, Kushikatsu, tempura, and many more.

And lastly, a newly found Filipina friend here in Hive who is currently working in there as a software engineer. @wittyzell was quite approachable, thus getting assistance from her wasn't difficult. She even vowed to treat and host me when I eventually travel to Japan. And that made me happy. Not because of the treat, but more because I appreciate that she would be willing to spend some time with someone like me. I just hope I can go in there before all my hair turns grey.

If you reach reading 'till this end, well thank you. May God bless you with a fruitful week starting today.

Love lots,
Jonalyn

I have never visited Japan, but it holds a great allure for myself and my husband. I'm not sure we will ever get there, but it would be awesome if we did.

Thank you for sharing your dream trip with us. Take care and have a lovely day!

Thank you also @elizabethbit and God bless you. Hope we can both visit Japan in the future.🥰

That's good to hear that someone will be helping and will be welcoming you there. Hopefully you can achieve that dream and be there in the right time.

Japan preserve the cultures talaga. I also loved bonsai hehe. Soon enough surely diyan tayu papunta 🥰

Dun tayu magmeet lahat sa Japan pag mayaman na tayu lahat. Hahaha

I am amazed by the bonsai plants.
I am more amazed because it’s your husband who has influenced you. 😅
So rare for men to like bonsai.

I haven’t heard of bonsai museums around here but maybe because it’s not my hobby, I didn’t check it out.
Will probably try to look for it and visit! Who knows maybe I’ll be inspired to have a bonsai myself 😂

And yeah of course if I am still in Japan at that time, I would definitely welcome you here!

Oh I thought when it comes to bonsai, men outnumbered the women. I mean, all the bonsai maker here are men, and whenever we looked for bonsai tutorials and bonsai collections, they were owned mostly by men. Soon I will showcase all his bonsai trees. But some of them were dead, sold and some were given as presents.

Anyway, I'm excited to see Japan, really. Someday muanha jud ko. Pangitaon taka. Kay magpatour jud ko, Dali ra baya ko mawala. I mean I'm not good sa directions jud. Haha

Really?! I didn't know that!
I always thought women to be so meticulous about bonsais, not men.
But well, maybe you are right.
I know a guy who likes and has a bonsai in his home. 😅

HAhaha! Don't worry, I'm good at directions. 😅
If ever we get lost, it's okay, there's a lot of things to see here man sad so I think making a wrong turn, we will still be entertained. 😂

Looking forward to the remaining bonsais!
