My hobby and a Passion #90 - Macrame

in #hive-1244522 years ago

Greetings, dear ladies. I'd like to ask @holisticmom to join me in this week's Community Contest 90 Ladies of Hive question of the week #90.

My hobby is Knotting, which is also sometimes referred to as Macrame. Knotting is one of the earliest forms of weaving art.

Macrame and other forms of knotting are two of the numerous handicrafts that are seeing a renaissance thanks to those who appreciate working with their hands.

In the same way that surface stitching, quilting, and needlepoint are enjoying a revival in popularity, macrame is transitioning from an art form that was popular in the 1970s into a cutting-edge, contemporary art form.

After becoming skilled in this hobby, I am able to make gorgeous things such as curtains, mirrors, bags, wall hangings, tablecloths, carpet, and other decorative objects.

Macrame is a technique that involves knitting threads and ropes in an artistic manner to give them a lovely appearance. This technique is used in the craft of macrame. Macrame is a craft that is easy to learn and entertaining to do; in addition, the necessary supplies are not hard to get, which means that we have all we require.

When making larger decorative things, such as wall hangings or window treatments, I started a macrame piece on a wooden dowel so that I could easily spread out several cords and work with them. This made the project much simpler.

Providing responses to the questions posted this week by @tibaire

When I first started my macramé business, one of my primary priorities was to keep overhead and potential losses to a minimal.

There is no question in my mind that I do not intend for my business to provide enormous and pricey wall hangings. Producing large projects requires a significant investment of both money and effort, and selling such products is significantly more challenging than selling cute keychains or plant hangers.

Once I have a solid customer base and more special orders, it is possible that I will gradually increase the number of different things I provide, the size of the pieces I create, the cost of the materials, and the number of items I am able to make.

Between $30 and $40 is the amount of money needed to purchase all of the necessary supplies to make a macrame wall hanging. However, this can be made more challenging by the increasing amount of competition on online marketplaces such as Etsy as macrame continues to gain in popularity.

There are a number of charming local boho businesses as well as flower and plant stores in close proximity to me. I approach them and show off my skills by carrying some of my most impressive macrame creations with me.

In addition to conducting business on the internet, I plan to establish a channel on YouTube in order to broaden the scope of my customer base.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read the entire post. I genuinely wish that this provided you with a deeper insight into the macrame craft.

Your curtains and creations are really beautiful! I hope that with your YouTube channel your customers will increase and you will sell a lot.

Thanks for appreciating my work. Starting a YouTube channel is my priority than opening an Etsy store to sell my work. It can take a lot more time to sell custom pieces or cords than to sell digital patterns or make a YouTube video.

Indeed knotting is really your hoppy and you are doing well in it. Nice works you have. Thumps up dear ✅

I've tried Macrame once and it was a tedious yet fun art to do! Somehow, it was meditative as my mind was solely focus on knotting! Macrame is a beautiful way of making creative works and I hope to fill my future "boho" themed home with macrame stuff. 😍

Yeah, Mecrame has been a traditional art in my family. It is creative fun with mindfulness. Hope you create lot of macrane in future.

Your creations are really cool! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!

Thank you.

Hey @heypunch , good to know your mother likes Macrame. I also learnt from my mother. Macrame roots are many centuries old.

I would like to learn that!!!
