๐๐MY ANSWER:
~is how I grew in my art, and have found people from all over the world that have the same mindset as me through my art. ๐๐๐ It opened doors for me, changed literally my entire live as you have read a few months ago in This post! It saved me ๐ฅฐ
This is one of only a few paintings that I created in the last years that made me feel really really proud of how I have grown in creating something beautiful. Have grown in my ART!
That I can share now with the entire world.
With you here, all the lovely - Ladies of Hive. ( and of course everybody else that reads my posts ๐ I wonโt forget you )
This painting makes people smile or even giggle when they see these SNAILS. Hope it will make YOU ๐๐ tooโฆ
Let me tell you now about this painting:
I finished this painting 01-2014.
Do note I started my art in only 2011, I am self taught. And have lots of breaks in between that did stop me creating. But I am back ๐ I love to share my progress steps of my artworks. ๐
This original painting is still available for purchase and I do also have all kind of prints from this painting available, on different objects, if you would like a print from it have a look In My PrintShop!
~The Dimensions are 20.5 x 26 cm / 8.1 x 10.2 inch
~Underground is a museum quality mount-board.
~Gouache paints I am using are from Dahler Rowney and Winsor and Newton.
~reference photo used with permission from Sonia McKinlay.
~It depicts 3 snails that are just about to go for a trip together ๐๐๐๐
This painting/the snails and rock are painted with the normal brushes and gouache paint. The background I airbrushed with my airbrush gun. To make it look more 3D and I could achieve the bokeh effect better.
Step 1
I drew a sketch of the main features with graphite pencil. Also some intricate details that are vital to get right.
Step 2
I airbrushed here the background with different well diluted paints to create the bokeh.
Step 3
I painted now with normal brushes the rock, the snails are crawling overโฆ
Step 4
I decided to start with the top little snail and work my way down. The snail is also fully painted with the normal brush and gouache paints.
Remember the little snail I edited into a photo last FungiFriday @gamessteam? Here it is and you can see the whole painting in this post.
Step 5
Next snail is added.
Step 6
The last snail shell was painted. I added lots of details and textures.
Step 6 finished
The end result.
All steps combined
Thank you for looking and reading. I hope you enjoyed my Step by Step of this painting and my answer to the contest question. ๐
With my future new artworks, I will make a more detailed step by step for you, maybe even videos.
Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help.๐ And talk about art ๐จ
Have a great day all ๐๐๐ป
