Hi all 👋🏻
Today I want to show you what I created this morning:
I made my own WEDDING BOUQUET out of DRIED FLOWERS for our wedding next week 🥰 it will also be my entry into the Ladies of Hive Community Contest #71
The Ladies of Hive community is holding a contest. You can find all the information by reading their post HERE. (also a little in my next text)
For the contest you can answer 2 questions.
The Questions are provided this week by: @thekittygirl
The question I related the most with and I wanted to answer is:
”Show one or more photos of your hobbies and tell us the story! It can be a photo (or video) of you actually doing the hobby, or showing the results of the hobby. Photos can be of jewelry you have made, something you have kitted or sewn, your musical instrument, something you have baked, a scrapbook you have made, etc.”
I’m quite creative and have many hobbies.
I love art and paint, airbrush and draw. I also like to decorate the house and build furniture as a hobby. I make lot of things myself for our and my decorations, I like to just be creative. And that’s most of the time/day!
~For my chosen subject I decided I wanted to show you a few steps of how I created this morning my own wedding bouquet out of dried flowers.~
Our Wedding day will be 4 March 🥰 exactly 1 week away today… as some of you already know.
~The bouquet~
I included something special in my wedding bouquet:
As my fiancé Russell and I are together since 2016, I saved and dried all the roses 🌹 he got me for Valentine’s Day over the years.
I needed to wait a little before the last rose was dry enough from the recent Valentine’s Day, as I wanted to include that one too.
The one that needed to dry until today. I had hung it down to dry better.
The other 5 that were dried already.
After waiting for the last rose to dry I could start today the bouquet.
🌹🌹🌹I had 6 dried ROSES to start with…🌹🌹🌹
I went to the store and bought some other dried flowers for filling and around my roses:
A dried flower bouquet with mainly fillers.
Some cute long fluffy things/ Bunny Tail Grasses in pink and dark red.
More crème fillers.
After I opened the first wrapped paper, I found that most of the bouquet was broken 😳 in half.
But I decided to take it apart and see what I can rescue and use. I can do this 😎 work with what I have…
So I made little piles of the different flowers that were rescued :
The table:
This pile I threw away as was not usable to start with.
I take now the 6 dried roses:
And gently separate them as they are important.
Next I put the roses and flowers together in a nice bouquet. (Sorry couldn’t take photos of this process as needed both my hands😉)
But after putting some tape on it, you see… I cut off the ends of the stems evenly.
Next I roll some natural (coloured) fibres around it for decoration and also so you don’t see how I put it together:
Here the end result of my creation.

And in a glass jar:
Soon I can carry it on our day 👰🏻♀️🤵🏻♂️💐🥰
