Welcome back to my blog ladies.
New Year usually feels like the beginning of new chapters. It comes with that feeling of abandoning an old self in the past and starting a new life. Just like a new born without sin, new year feels like the beginning of new existence.
Every year, I have the mindset of doing something special. And I have realize that there's a huge difference between dreams and goals. In my head, I have hundreds of goals to achieve, but without proper planning and strategy, it mostly doesn't come into actualization. And if it does, it's usually not all.
Over the years, I have discovered why I am unable to fulfill my goals and that is the beginning of my resolution for this year.
Few of the attitude that made my goals remain as dreams were
Unrealistic goals:- I listed out excessive goals without considering reality but when work and duties started demanding, I tend to use those time I set for my goals as a break time. This new year, I'm putting everything into consideration and taking baby steps. I'm prioritizing my goals and sticking to it.
Procrastination comes handy when I want to do something. All plans are well executed in my head but in action, I keep shifting and changing date. I've been fixing that towards ending of last year and this year I am really getting over it.
Defined time frame I tend to not have a fixed time to carry out an activity. All I care about is making sure that I do it daily but I found out that lack of specific time made me procrastinate. I feel like I still have more time before the day runs out, but the days turn into night and I then I tell myself "I'll do it tomorrow".
This New Year is going to be different from last year as I have acknowledge my weaknesses and make plans to fix them.
Here are goals I set out for my 2024
Establishing a well start as an Hiver I am just a few days old in Hive and I have been enjoying my stay especially in @LadiesofHive community with lots of amazing content to write on and to read from other ladies.
My major goal is to at least read and comment on at least 5 post in at least 5 communities no matter how tight my schedule for the day might be. I won't miss it.
Personal Growth One of my goals for 2023, was to learn a new language which I did. I learned Spanish but at some point, I got tired and change to Arabic. I wanted something new. This year I am resuming my Spanish classes and taking a 20 minutes classes each day no matter how tight my schedule might be.
Also, I am changing my genres of books taste to a new one. And I already found myself a reading a partner to review with.
Fixed timeframe:- Having specific time for each activities will keep me in check. I won't have to be doing laundry when I ought to be in my Spanish class. Plus, I get to tick out all my daily goals at the end of the day before going to bed. I can always checkmate myself.
Baby Steps:- I realize, for me, daily activities is better than weekly or monthly goals. If I am able to tick out all activities for the day then, at the end of the week, I have been productive and that's something.
Being Productive:- Social media are tempting. I am cutting down the time spent on social media on doing more productive things.
This year, one way or the other, I must be serious with my life. Make professional relationships and focus on my personal growth. I must glow and glow because, why not 😀.
I hope you enjoy this post. Feel free to drop your comment, I would like to hear from you.
