Come to think of it, do I actually have a mantra?
I know that there are expressions that I use throughout the day, that I say when I find myself in different situations but are they actually mantras?:
- Thank God!
- Como vaya viniendo, vamos viendo. (As it comes, we'll see).
- Fuck it!
- It is what it is
- What are you gonna do?
1.- "Thank God"; is the expression that I say the most during the day, the week, months, and years, and the truth is that despite the fact that I am not the most religious person in the world, a very deep spirituality is engraved in me.
Growing up in a house under the Catholic religion, having studied for many years in Catholic schools, has shaped who I am today. The truth is that my lifestyle could be very criticized by the most conservative within the religion, but it is something that does not matter to me because I am at peace with myself.
Thank God, is an expression that I use daily because I am grateful to be alive, to be healthy, to have a roof over my head, food on my table every day, friends, a job that I enjoy, etc...
2.- Como vaya viniendo, vamos viendo; is an expression that literally translates to: “Like things are coming, we will see”
I use this mantra because I think it fits all aspects of life even though you're preparing for specific situations you never know what alternatives might occur.
For samples of this, we know everything that has happened since 2020. I am 100% sure that no one imagined being where they are today, in 2020.
So, when situations come, I evaluate what I have at hand, and with that, I solve the situation.
3.- Fuck it! it's the expression I use when I'm going to do something that I'm going to regret, but I know that at that moment I will enjoy it... Ladies, you know what I mean.😉
That moment when we try on that outfit or we see the shoes that we have been wanting for a long time. And of course, that day when your crush for months or that handsome guy who is at the bar invites you for a drink.
Then we see how we pay the bill, or in the morning when that half-uncomfortable or maybe very funny moment of that boy's farewell occurs, we realize whether risking everything was worth it or not. (Obviously, always taking care of yourself)
4.- It is what it is… Should I say something else?
We have all been in that situation, where we can't do anything, we don't know what to say, we don't have an answer to what we have been asked, and we just say; “It is what it is” we accept the situation, process the emotions, and let it go. Thank you, next!
And finally, I have to say that:
4.- What are you gonna do? It is the expression that I say to myself, in a situation of panic, or despair, when I wake up and I have a long list of tasks to do during the day, or maybe when I am broken-hearted.
I ask myself; "What are you going to do”? Are you going to cry? do you want to have a coffee? going to lunch with a friend?
All right, do it, take your time, get your thoughts in order, pick up your hair, paint your lips red, and move on.
I hope that some of my mantras or expressions will be useful to you and that maybe you can use them.
Thank you for taking the time, and reading my words.
