Hello beautiful people! Welcome back to my space. Every moment you spend here is very much appreciated, so thank you for being here.
@ifarmgirl has some very interesting questions for this week's LOH Contest here in the @ladiesofhive community, and I would love to respond to both of them in this post.
Here is the first one:
1️⃣ When did you last laugh so hard you cried or your tummy ached? What was it about?
Now, that made me stop and think, you know!
Being someone that loves to find humour in every situation, I have had several opportunities to laugh recently.
One of such occasions was when I was in the company of some friends, catching up. As we were chatting, one of my friends received a phone call. The next thing I heard my friend say to whomever it was that called her was this,
"See, I if you make me vex I go change am for you ooo. No make me vex ooo!" (Meaning: If you make me angry, you will not like my reaction), 😂
Now, my friend was speaking in the Nigerian pidgin English, so that was funny enough. But what made it extra funny was the Wafi vibes that only Deltans (especially those from Warri, Delta State) can add to their own pidgin. If you know, you know, 😆 🤣.
Being a Deltan myself, I was trying hard not to laugh while calming my friend down and trying to understand the issues. Here is my friend's response:
"No mind that my yeye brother. You go dey tell am beta thing, e go just dey counter yarn. I never see this kind yeye person wey wisdom go dey pursue, im go dey run like motor wey no get break!" 🤣 🤣🤣
My friend was only trying to say that the call was from her younger brother who always talks out of point when someone is advising him, and that he's so stupid that wisdom can never catch up with him🤭🙄🤔. Whaaaat?
Well, I couldn't hold back my laughter anymore. And I laughed so hard tears were flowing from my eyes while I held my tummy because it ached.
When I got home and told my children the story, we all had a very good laugh together. But I had to warn them not to use such expressions against one another or even against other people.
Now, to the second question:
2️⃣ Do you have a favorite family member? If yes, who is it, and what makes your relationship special?
And my answer is, "Yes, I do!" Lol 😆
And I am talking about my one of my daughters (I have three girls and a boy). Her name is Shammah, and she would be joining Hive very soon.
To be honest, I do have a very special relationship with each of my children. However, this particular daughter of mine is the only one that keeps announcing to everyone that cares to listen that she looks like me. Sometimes, she would smile into a mirror, and then ask me to see if she smiles the way I do. I am even tired of being annoyed with her for bothering me with such things, lol 😆.
Many times when I am alone, she would come and ask me if she should tell me a story (one that she had written or one she is still working on).
There was a particular day when I was not in a good mood, and she came into my room and sat quietly beside me. Thinking that she wanted to ask me for something, I asked her what she wanted me to do for her. Her answer shocked me.
"Mummy, I just wanted to know if I should tell you a story, or recite my new poem for you or sing you a song so that you can laugh".
That jolted me! I never knew how this lil' girl could sense my feelings and moods, but it can only be because of a special bond that we share.
Thanks for reading my post. I hope you found a reason to laugh or at least smile with me. And I hope your days are continually filled with laughter.
